converting to bread machine

I used to bake bread occasionally and thought it was great. I resisted a bread machine for many years but eventually broke down and bought one. Well, I love it! I use it for one to two loaves of bread a week. I make almost all our sandwich bread and then various breads such as French-style baguettes. I make bagels, which are wonderful. I make pizza dough. I am a convert.

But, I use it only to knead and do the first rise. I pull the dough out, shape it and do the second rise and baking outside the machine. It is extremely rare that I bake in the machine.

So, my question is about recipes. I have used primarily recipes designed for the bread machine. But you all have so many fabulous sounding bread recipes here that I want to try. Can they be used interchangeably in the bread machine or do I have to make some adjustments? Does anyone have experience adapting regular bread recipes for the machine?

thanks,

Ann
