Yes, sadly, he was hit by a car. He disappeared on Tues night last week but didn't get home until next morning. After many tears and my heart will never heal from the pain, today he seems to be not a lot better as far as his right hip is concerned. The "roadrash"(bad skinned places) is beginning to heal, Praise God for this. He was just in my bedroom while I was getting everything ready for sleep and he cried out in pain. Oh my heart! There isn't much to be done. He takes an anti-inflamatory drug daylily. Now we just have to wait to see for about another week to 10 days if the Dr decides he needs surgery. He's HAPPY! Eats up the loving, scratching places he can't reach and his appitete is really good. All of this is encouraging, just his hip. He walks with a terrible limp, but he can still move faster than me!! He goes outside with me, but he is on a long leash line and tied where he can watch but not run off. So is my older dog and this is not making either of them happy. I just can't let him go yet. I'm afraid he might run off again and get into so much pain that he would lay down somewhere or might even get in the road again. I what I would give for a fensed in yard. We were the only house on a dead end road for about 8 years. Now, we have a subdivision on 3 sides and one planned for the back side. It's been a hard adjustment for my dogs and me too. We liked our peace and quiet. We have an acre on the west side, then our house is on an acre and then another acre on the east side. The road is in front and an open field in back that our dogs have ran rabbits since we have been here for 15 years. They just do not understand why they can't run and play like they used to. Jazz has only been here for 6 months but the other two have been here 10 years and 5 years. Oh how we resist change! I do want to thank all of you again for your prayers and kind words. Fabio I saw some full grown jaboticabas at my kids nursery around my area, they were huge! Tall and wide. He did say they take 10 years to fruit, that is when I said it is not for me. I don't have that kind of time. Ricky, you have 2 more years to go.lol There is another tree that produces fruit similar to jabotica in less time is called false jaboticaba and looks like a bush, I saw that in Excalibur nursery. Hi, Thanks for asking. Not much has changed, things have escalated a bit more at times. Different triggers, same story. SS continues getting deposits made directly into his bank account several times a month from DH in addition to his wages, but no helping with bills or house or cleaning. He does however go on long fishing/shopping trips and has one of his two girlfriends spend the night here (in the room with him & GS) 3+ nights a week. DH asked me why I had such a bug up my **s about it. I feel it is inappropriate on so many levels. I believe DH enables SS to continue living a life making poor decisions that have effects not only on him but his child and everyone around him. BUT, that is not my cross to carry and I cannot make him stop. Anyway, I am actively looking for a place, with a short term lease 6 months for this reason, I really don't know if our relationship is salvedgable any longer and if it isn't I will not stay in this geographical area. Dh knows I am moving out asap, seems to be ok with it though he did say that the money I spend on rent could be used to fix up our rehab house. I said "Yes, that is true, it could." And continue with my plans. Work has all but stopped on the house as DH is back into his workaholic thing and that is that. No real surpises. I love him, I do but honestly there is no room for me in this marriage. I expect I will end up signing the house over and walking. I don't expect things to get nasty, or least as long as I do everything in my power to not say anything that may remotely make SS uncomfortable in anyway- like "could you do your dishes?" or "I'll need to use my washer and dryer tonight, can you make sure it's availabe?" you know stuff like that. Then things will be ok. I was very ill with flu all week and must say DH was very good about stopping at store for me and getting my medications filled, popsicles, water and the like almost daily. He is a very good caretaker. Too bad there just isn't any way to make our marriage a priority that comes first. But I'm just tired of it all now and have no energy left to fight for it anymore. I think the parting will be peaceful, painful in some ways as I am already so lonely and alone much of the time and grieving the time spent waiting for "someday". Sometimes someday just doesn't happen. It's not a realistic hope anymore and I have to let it go for my own health and peace of mind. ~Cat

I am just concerned for stating any obvious points you already know and have already addressed with him. I'm really glad you had the courage to tell him some things that were on your mind. It is apparent you're bothered, hence the name of this thread and what you have expressed. And, you're right to be bothered. What is more, you're not sweeping these things under the rug, and that is so very commendable because most women do, which isn't good at all. It appears your naivete is working in your favor. Depite your fears, you approached him and addressed your concerns. You're really on the right road. Even if it means he doesn't like it, continue to stand your ground. You know you cannot imagine living this way indefinitely. I know one of the members is very keen on suggesting you seek counseling, and she's right for the most part. You do need counseling because when it comes to relationships and marriage, I think almost all women need counseling, so please don't neglect that. The problem is, all too often, women do exactly as you have been doing, which is to live their lives by their guy's permission and approval and then not addressing their issues for fear of losing him. Where the need for counseling is concerned, I'm saying you are just like most in this respect and while that surely will help with your self esteem, your sense of worth, and, thereby, your confidence, counseling will not provide you with what is needed for your marriage. As has been stated, marriage is a lot of work, and it takes a very unique skillset. For that, you need are a plan and some tools to work with. You're new to some things - those that you missed along the way of not experiencing the usual dynamics, machinations, and negotiations of relationships, so you're at a slight disadvantage and in for sort of a crash course. For starters, his responses to you, as were here referred to as "a line" or "a bunch of crap," are exactly that. They are empty statements, especially to say "just being you" in answer to your question. Empty because it neither defines nor determines anything specific. He said that for lack of anything else to say. I got over statements like these around 16 years old and determined I needed something more concrete. The flattery is always nice, but I want some REAL answers. After that, I want actions to back up those words. You, your needs, your opinions, your comfort level, and your wishes are to be respected. That's where your plan comes in. Determined what you don't like, and list them, then tell him one by one. Your marriage shouldn't be everything he wants, everything he says, and the way he says it has to go. Stop allowing him to be the sole conductor. If yours clash with his, then the two of you have to work toward a mutually acceptable compromise without you feeling short-changed in the deal because that will be no different than you feel right now. You've known it for a while now apparently but decided to swap your gut feeling for bliss. You know it's time to find out what the pit of your stomach keeps trying to tell you even though it's scary. For that, you need marriage counseling (not individual counseling) and/or websites, books, and articles that help you both understand what marriage is all about and what is required from each of you. Then begin again to plan other articles, another time frame for reading, and scheduled date for discussion. Make it a big day of driving or going out to dinner.
