does Google help you in the kitchen?

Last night, I wanted to make some pulled chicken and honey wheat bread to have for quick sandwiches. I used an awful bread recipe, (couldn't find my regular one). I had to divide the recipe to get only one loaf. I needed 1/6 cup of something, but I didn't have a measuring cup that small. I typed it into google and found how many tablespoons and teaspoons make one cup. I've also use it to find out how many teaspoons are in a a packet of yeast and for many other things too. Sometimes, I make use of the built in Google converter when what I want to know is there. Other times, google will find answers to questions other people have asked. I can't even recall the number of times I've had to ask Google a question. (Of course it doesn't compare to the Cooking Forum, but when you need a quick answer at 3 AM, it's nice!) As I was melting the butter for the bread recipe, my microwave started arcing terribly. I couldn't figure out why, so I asked Google. It linked me to a forum where someone else posted they had the same problem. One of the responses said that microwaves don't like small amounts of food (I was trying to melt 2 teaspoons), so to place a glass of water in with the butter and it would stop the problem. Well, I did, and it did! Of course google is only as good as the answers that are given by people, but still, it has really helped me out!

What about you? Do any of you employ Google to answer kitchen questions when you need an answer in a hurry?

The bread was bland, and the recipe had too many steps ingredients... that's a recipe I'll never use again. I'm off to buy store bought bread to put the fabulous pulled chicken on. I'm too tired to try again and I don't want to mess up the kitchen again. :o)
