Howdy, I too have an 8x12 green house. Wish it was larger, or better yet, a solarium built to the house. Inside are larger plants that no longer fit in the house. Citrus, Agaves, a few Aloes, Olive tree, variegated Ginger, and a few other odds and ends. Plants are kept in the gh during winter months..once temps warm up, plants are set outdoors. With utility prices, why pay extra when plants do well outside, not to mention easier to manage...? The first year it was erected, 'December, Christmas present,) on the coldest night of the year, the heater went out. In the process, I lost either 32 or 37 plants which froze. I cried, literally cried. After that dreadful night, we figured the problem and made sure the gas heater was working. We added an electric heater in case something went wrong with the gas again. We also purchased a temp/guage/alarm. The guage displays indoor, outdoor and gh temps and humidity. If temp drops to 45F, the alarm beeps. The guage is kept in the house. Mike, although Feb is cold, 'usually the coldest month of the year,' the sun is stronger and will burn certain plants. I hesitate adding shading since most plants are sun lovers, and eventually adapt to strong rays. During summer, gh temps reaches 117F+. This last summer, especially July, temps rose 140 and higher. Even with two opened vents and the storm/screen door ajar. Although my gh is on the small side, it's great having extra space. Don't know what I'd do without the extra room. It's a great investment, especially for those of us who have, more than a few, plants. lol. Toni

Shee - I have the same question about whether nontoxic cleans as well. Msjee - It's funny you mentioned Mrs. Meyers. I was buying some Tide today and saw Mrs. Meyers (I think that's what it was) a couple of shelves up. I thought about it for a second, but then went with the Tide because it was cheaper. The thing about Basic H2 is it looks like it would actually be cheaper than my normal cleaners since you buy it in the concentrated form. Does Basic H2 have a fragrance to it? I know it doesn't have to smell good to clean good, but there's just something about the fragrance sometimes that makes you feel like things are really clean.

I grew up with a Kenmore like this one. My sister has it to this day. It was given to me and I cherished it with the memories of all the great meals my mother made with it. After borrowing it about 10-15 years ago, I never got it back! Actually it's OK because I don't need one that big. I bought a 4 qt and a 6 qt Nesco and am very happy with them. I think an electric roaster should be in every home. Many take them with camping or in their RV. There's a lot of different brands out there. I can't understand people buying slow cookers with the small roasters available. The roasters are workhorses and functional. I'm wondering if there's anything wrong with your unit other than the power cord. Do you have another to try? I doubt you can repair it. This time of year you can buy them new quite cheap. Granted, they're not as heavy as the old ones, but I've seen 18-20 qt units as cheap as $17 on clearance. Target has one right now for about $40. I'm certain that many places will put them on sale during the holidays. Menards almost always has (an off-brand) one in the $25-$30 range on sale. Regular price on the 18 qt Nesco at Menards was about $58. And that's cheaper than a LOT of slow cookers! I haven't seen the Westinghouse brand lately but if you're not dead-set on the same brand, you'll find a roaster easy enough and at a decent price.

To echo all others, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Made filed the wrong plans with our City Building Dept for someone else's bathroom. Now, we have an unpermitted bathroom. I only discovered the permit issue when I saw that Made installed the wrong vanity, wrong tub, wrong toilet, wrong tile, wrong fixtures...the list goes on, in our home. Inconceivable, considering we signed off on written design plans and a product purchase list. Upon discovering Made's incompetence, I asked the contractor to stop construction while we sorted the mess out. The contractor told me that other Made accounts of his were in litigation. Made said the right items were installed in our bathroom, and they completely ignored the issue of the wrong plans being filed. This is absurd, as everything is in writing, there are SKUs on everything, and the incorrect plans are clearly on record with the City. But Made already had our money (they make you pay everything in advance). Their very obvious strategy is to deny and ignore, hoping you'll give up. So, we hired an attorney to help us elevate our complaints. Again, Made denied and ignored. Thankfully, there is an arbitration clause in the contract we signed. We are very confident that we will prevail when a third party arbitrator is involved. But it's very clear (look at Glassdoor or anywhere else online) that Made will go out of business, and it's just a matter of when. Hopefully, we can recoup some of our losses before then. Years of dealing with Made and all we have is an unusable, unfinished master bathroom that we already paid for, plus a race to arbitration before Made is bankrupt. We've since learned and renovated successfully 2 of our remaining bathrooms by working with a contract designer (Fiverr or Upwork have lots of options) and a local contractor directly. So much better. Do yourself a favor and avoid Made at all costs.
