Just saw it on some online sneak peek. So cute! I LOVE Budweiser commercials and I LOVE dogs, so I was the perfect mark to advertise to. Unfortunately, though, I don't care for their beer, being a huge fan of all things made by Fat Tire instead. But, I still think Budweiser consistently creates some of the world's best ads.

golddust if you don't mind me saying, wait a bit longer. It's a huge role (and hole) to fill for a dog when you're grieving not only a wonderful pet but a contributing member of the household. Lots and lots of dogs can be trained to do what you want - few will know instinctively - you had one of those. But every dog can bring something to the table, so to speak, and you might fall in love with a new trait that you didn't know you needed. We trained our dog to stay within our yard boundaries in suburbia. We're only fenced along our driveway, the rest of the yard is open and he knows the lot corners. He'll keep deer out of the yard during the day but obviously at night when he's sleeping, unless he hears something, they forage. A deer sprinkler has been my best investment for that. Chipmunks have all been either 'dispatched' or 'encouraged' to move to neighbor's yards!! The doorbell or knocker sends him into a barking frenzy (he has a big mean bark) until we tell him 'quiet' but if we're not home, anyone on the other side of the door thinks he's going to come right through it - I like that security. maire cate we have a cattle dog mix - he's part Blue Heeler and part Chow of all things. When I look online at the characteristics of a heeler there's no way I'd pick one, to say nothing of the fact that personally, I don't find them to be particularly cute dogs! However, when I search the adoption sites I always check for heeler/cattle dog mixes and there are a lot, at least here in the midwest. They are wonderful dogs, sturdy, loving, loyal and intent on pleasing by doing a job. He never needs a leash for walks although I bring one just in case. He's good with kids and most other dogs although if he see's a German Shepherd he freezes at my side since one attacked him and pinned his neck to the ground last year. If my DH hadn't been there he would have killed our dog. Mix a cattle dog with something else and you get a cute dog, at least I think Cajun's cute ;-) The wideset ears are a dead give away for heelers - you can see them coming from a long way off. This is his favorite vantage point - he can see anyone coming up the drive, passing by on the sidewalk and can still keep an eye on most of the backyard.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to Silversword and lamom. You get what I am saying. I was not trying to "goat" anyone into anything or stir up the pot. I really was posting my deep thoughts, kind of like a journal to myself while at the same time trying to explain the situation. The reason I wrote the stuff about the BM being proud of being 'white trash' was because I was trying to explain about what I am dealing with here. That is all. I am the furtherest thing from someone who is all high and mighty and I don't think I am better than anyone else. In fact I am more of the black sheep in my family partly because I am not so judgmental and I am the rebel. I have tattoos, moved out at 17 on my own, don't like people to tell me what to do, etc. And yes I freely admit I am a control freak. That is something I am working very hard on. After the first post I was just adding details and my mind and thinking were changing. I am glad that my tune has changed since last Sunday. I am feeling much more optimistic now. Honestly I didn't think I was even going to come back to this site and I told myself today ok just go see what was said but don't post anymore. I am glad I did come back because both silversword and lamom made feel better and realize that not everyone here is so judgemental. I can take criticism and I was really thankful for the first few posts that told me to grow up because that is exactly what I needed to hear. And I do not get off on or enjoy writing inflammatory posts. I am sorry I was just writing my story and the quotes that sylviatexas posted that I wrote on the first day I registerd were written because that is what was said. I was not making anything up, that is my story and I am sticking to it, lol. My DH did not graduate but I don't hold that against him. I still love him very much. He also had a drug addiction in his past but you know what he is stronger for it and has proven how he can overcome almost anything. People do change and I do not hold their past on them forever. When I say he went through a bad period that is what I was referring. There is, of course, way more to the story and lamom is right you can not describe it all in one post, or even probably in 100. But what matters most is that this site did help me. I got a change to write my thoughts down and try to figure out what in the world I was really feeling. The more I wrote about SS and what HE has to deal with the more I found that I do care about him. I really do. It is still going to take time to build a relationship but I think it is all going to be ok.

sjerin, he is just mean. He is one of the two guys who stole my pet pig, Piggy Sue. He also almost shot me twice....not on purpose but was shooting in the wooded area next to my house. The bullets zinged past my head. The first time, I didn't press charges. I did call out the sheriff deputy. The second time...a couple of years later, I did. His mother flew into a rage. She called me a liar....said I made it up. Believe me, I didn't. That is his main problem....raised by someone who never made him be a responsible adult. She actually paid someone to take him to Austin and put him out and told him not to come back. Of course, he called a friend to come get him and probably beat them home. She bought him a new truck....tried to get him to get a job and make the payments. He went to Houston, got drunk and tried to cross a railroad track, and something happened....I think the cross arm came down and hit the truck, and he bailed out and a train hit it. I found the dog running up and down on the highway about a mile from here. I thought she had been dumped out. I didn't pick her up the first day, but the second day I saw her, I did. I thought she was a boxer....she is probably half pit bull. I took her to the humane society and had her scanned for a chip. I could have left her there but they had so many dogs, I knew she would be put down, so I brought her home. Later I found out it was his dog originally. He was given her and she had puppies, and his mother didn't want them, so they killed the pups and threw them in the bayou. She killed a neighbor's chicken, so he gave her to his best friend who lives about a half mile from him and he was going to make a hog dog out of her. He didn't feed her and I guess she didn't do her job or something. She ended up on the highway. I kept her in the house and on a leash when I walked her outside but if she got loose, she would run right back to his house because she liked to play with his other dog. So, I think he thought it would be fun to take her off and dump her. She was found about 10 miles away....across the bayou. There are only 3 places to cross the bayou and she was not near a crossing. Some lady found her in the middle of the road and stopped and got her. That's a miracle, I think. Okay, going to do the links now. Socks - the best dog we ever had, was one that we took to a professional trainer and had private lessons with, for the whole family when the dog was just a puppy. It made all the difference in the world. The dog was a love anyway, but, what a pleasure to have a dog you could depend on to respond to voice commands. My daughter was able to locate a Vet near her, that comes outside to meet the dog and owner with masks on, social distancing, then brings the dog in for the exam and talks to the owner who is left outside, on the phone, then brings the dog back outside at the end. She likes that arrangement much better. Good point about finding out the name of an emergency vet. She does live fairly close to a large animal hospital, so there’s always that. My daughter made her decision on the dog and drove to Indiana on Sunday to pick the dog up. She had a friend who is in her careful covid circle that was able to go along and they have been sending photos and video. The dog is adorable of course. A tiny miniature dachshund, long haired in a cream color. It’s only going to be 10 lbs when mature. They will be home tonight. She already reports they had a great first night with the dog. They fed her, let her out twice, woke up at 3am to let her out again. Dog never wet the bed the whole night. So they are off to a good start. I don't have a photo yet that I can post, but I will soon.

Bud's advertisers have come up with some of the best commercials. They will still get me teary eyed months from now. I haven't seen it yet. I will be looking for it on Sunday.

RedLover, I hadnÃ¢ÂÂt seen that commercial since I donÃ¢ÂÂt watch SuperBowl, but saw it yesterday, and agree, that one is one to tear up for.......it makes your heart melt!

YouTube has a bunch of the Bud ads -- one I'd not seen before was the 9/11 one -- simple, poignant.

This year's ad is terrific, too.

All I have to say is I hope the ad agency pay their employee/s that come up with these ideas very well.
Though the frog ones from years ago were cute, these tear-jerkers win the prize, hands down.

I do like the Twins/Olympic ad!
In a way however, the powerful REAL "Human drama" in that story is a little "lessened" in a way because it's for only a "beer". Can't put my finger on exactly WHY, but there's a slight disconnect for ME anyway.

Do check out the latest Kia Optima commercial where the dad speeds home with a goldfish .... very very cute!! Listen to the song ..... :) Yes -- it will be their Super Bowl ad!

Yes I know they're both for beer! All I meant was...a story as powerful as the twin-Women should've been standing on its own somehow.
VERY occasionally, one of the Clydesdale-teams have been in Fargo, but it's been a while now...
