GE Induction Cooktop - Metallic/Mirrored surface?
Comments (2)I was considering the ge monogram mirrored surface, but....I ruled it out because it required 12 inch clearance and that would mess up my drawer plans underneath the induction cooktop. I've since pretty much decided on the wolf or miele, which require just shy of 5 in. Thermadore has the mirrored finish, for a lot more $, but it doesn't require 12 in clearance. Also around a 5 inch clearance. The ge monogram also doesn't have the stainless border edge. I worry that raw/unprotected edge might chip (like my current cooktop). Good luck!! All these decisions!...See More36" Bosch induction cooktop, which wall oven will work?
Comments (1)Can't help you with another brand, but I know from my own research hat both the Bosch 500 and 800 will work. Just read another thread where we 500 oven users discussed our experiences, and all were overwhelmingly positive. It is actually one of the larger interior 30" mainstream wall ovens out there. For a small up charge, you can get a gliding rack and (I think) still be under the 800 price. Still, if you don't like the looks of it, perhaps the 800 series would suit your needs without breaking the bank. I found that manufactures by and large do not test compatibility with other brands, so although mixing and matching may work, you may be taking a risk from a warranty perspective. In the end, we went with all Bosch and have been happy, but of course, ymmv....See Morehot surface indicator on monogram induction cooktop
Comments (0)If you have experience with this cooktop, can you please comment on whether or not the hot surface indicator light truly works? In appliance store, when using the live cooktop, we noticed that the indicator light went on as soon as we turned on a burner. Which is good. But it also went off pretty soon after we turned off the burner. Which is bad. The burner surface was still pretty hot...hotter than is safe to touch. Manual says it stays on till surface is cool enough to touch...but that was definitely not the case. How does yours work?...See MoreDecision Time: induction range vs. induction cooktop with oven below
Comments (30)dsgulbas, are you arguing that Wolf is a commercial quality range??? I hope you understand that the Wolf commercial range company is NOT the one you are advocating. The Wolf brand name was purchased by a refrigeration company that has never produced a commercial range. The original Wolf stove company operates out of California and produces commercial stoves but has no relationship whatsoever to SubZero. Here is their website: http://www.wolfequipment.com/Wolf/Products/subcat.aspx?brand=Wolf&cid=1&scid=38 SubZero/Wolf gas stoves are not commercial quality and don't even have open burners, they are very good stoves but first and foremost are prime examples of kitchen jewelery. SubZero/Wolf ranges may be heavy but they are not long lasting. Try to get a Wolf gas range porcelain oven interior fixed after the warranty expires and you'll soon find out they are essentially disposable items. Been there done that. I will never defend Samsung as I've had bad experiences with them too but I don't see Wolf being any more (or even as) reliable than GE, Electrolux, Bosch and a few others that are sold in less exclusive stores....See Morechac_mool
