Michelle, I too would love a look at your kitchen as it was described in Kitchens. I don't go back to there much at all any more, but I should... People are still doing knock your socks off design.

Msafirstein, that was me who recommended (incorrectly) to Jf595 what I thought was your photo. I am sorry! I thought it was your pic in this thread about canisters which showed a kitchen with a shelf running under the upper cabinets holding canisters and the like. Sigh, I guess that as I head toward "the change", my brain is no longer functioning! I wonder who it was who had that setup? I thought it was great to have a shelf running under the upper cabinets to have spices and canisters easily within reach, yet not cluttering the countertop. Does anyone remember who that was who had that setup?

I remember that picture, always! It was on Kitchens, I think. There was a neat little row of all bottles all the way around.

I love that rail system! Very cool. I have been trying to figure out how to work one into my kitchen. Still working on it. I love the bottles too. Is that your kitchen Msazadi? I might have to start lurking over at the kitchen site. We are thinking of re-doing our kitchen.

I really like that method for spices, would be so nice to see quickly what you have. Mine are all jumbled up in the cabinet & I can never find what I want. I've been meaning to do something about it, this may be the answer. I love the look & ease of hanging my pans, but all but a couple of mine are cast iron. Thanks for the idea!

No, this isn't mine but one idea I was hoping to copy. I measured Sooooo carefully but in the end was off by a teensy bit. I had intended to stack a short Penzeys on top of the flat jars. This is my prep island.

Maureen, I'd never thought of garlic as a design element..But that looks good! LOL
I couldn't do my spices out like that or the one above..
I leave enough out on the counters! :oP

Final shot..I knew it was on my computer. If you look at the small Penzeys jar on top of another spice jar, you may be able to see it just is a hair to tall to fit UNDER the plugmold. It really was an aaaaaargh moment. But it IS a good idea, if you have a reasonable collection of spices.

michelle is having some problems due to the storms. i'm sure she'll be back soon and will post her pantry pix. that's what i think the OP was looking for.

Thanks Maryanne, I was wondering where Michelle was..noticed she'd been missing a few days..Was hoping it wasn't her foot acting up..Glad to hear it's icky weather..Hope everything is comfy cozy at her house!

Maureen, Are those little glass jars with the silver lid, IKEA? I have some larger jars from there, that have that same lid..I didn't see spice size when I was there.. If they are, I need to look closer next time. LOL ~oh and I agree...great concept..to bad it didn't work out perfectly for you.

She lives quite near to my kids. I was just cyber chatting with my DIL and she said they have almost 6 inchs of light fluffy snow. My son is travelling so she will have to deal with it, she said she was glad it was light and fluffy. I hope Michelle hasn't been out in it with her bad foot and all.
