I used the Miele rotisserie to make chickens for Christmas dinner. I presalted the chickens for 3 days. Using 2 tsp of Kosher salt for each 4# chickens, 1 tsp on the outside and 1 tsp inside. Stuffed lightly with fresh rosemary and thyme. Used the default setting of 425 for 1 hr and then raised it to 500 for 20 min or so to brown. I put a cup of water to start in the pan and as I was advised it does stop the splatter almost completely. The other advantage is the chickens are very moist and the gravy from drippings is amazing. One point is they don't get as brown as easily with the water. I overcooked them ...breast was 180...but due to the presalt and the water they were wonderfully juicy and tender . So a big success. I love my Miele !! Caroline
