Now I'm in a cold 'Purple' area....!

Yeah....weird lead-in I know!

This is such a neat NOAA/NWS Graphical Interactive-Weather page I think! Yes, I've said b4 I'm a geek!

You can hover your mouse over the "weather-feature" menu at left for different times of day, and even go forward a day or so. Clicking the arrows at upper-right moves your view L or R across the country.

As you can see, the real cold/purple area is over ND now, extending to Mpls., etc.

Near the coasts, the Marine stuff may be neat?!

Anyway...I think this is a neat, informative weather feature!

ugh. I thought we had it bad: moving into blue (20s) overnight from a high of 60 today. Be sure to wear your hat and mittens, Faron!

Hi had a similar experience ,not with hail but bac k to back hurricanes. There was not a single leaf in the entire yard lol. Just as things started to leaf out again ,Jeanne hit and repeated the whole process. Pool and plants were flatened. Total of 32 days without electricity. Not only did everything survive within three months it was difficult to tell anything had happened at all. I removed as much broken debris as possible which turned out to be a good idea as we had a third that year and the trees needed pruning for sure .lol. Only one tree still has scars from the storms but everything survived including us lol. I did lose 6 birds from the aviary from escape when the side was torn out and the Marine aquarium crashed . Decided not to replace it due to the expense. About the only thing you can do is remove as much broken material as possible from the pool . Hopefully there'll be enough time to recover before cold weather sets in??? gary

I'd give them a year in their pots if I were you - come late fall have your son move them into your unheated garage. That's what I do when I have roses that seem to be failing, and they either really take off or continue failing. Many love to "get potted" and spending the winter in the garage gives them a leg up to those in the ground. Good luck! (they will take more water & food that those in the ground - extra water because the pots tend to warm up and dry out, and extra food because all that water leaches out fertilizer faster>

Thanks for posting this thread. My grandparents sold their farm last spring and my mother brought me some of these blooming bulbs. I didn't know what these little blue bulbs were. What a pretty name for such a pretty flower. These bulbs have to be pretty drought tolerant. I remember them on the south side of my grandparent house and they haven't lived on their farm for 20 years. Mine aren't blooming yet, but I have lots of buds.

Herman, thanks for the update. It’s great to see fruit already. How large are the Conestoga 026 Segentrange and Poncirus Plus fruit? They look similar to PT…….or are they larger…….photos can be hard to judge. Great to hear 5* Citrumelo has some sweetness. Fruit ripens around Thanksgiving……but the size is clearly larger than PT…….a nice selection. Getting fruit in 3 years is very fast. I gave my brother who lives in Fairfax, VA a seed grown Citrumelo 12 years ago and it still hasn’t bloomed! Keep the updates coming.

Still, that NWS colored-graph stuff is cool!
We're usually in the COLDEST colored areas....

Wow Trail!

Most of the state will be in the mid/upper 20's all night...I'm impressed...;-) !
Looks like it'll be medium-breezes for 'Bama, windier though over by Atlanta the way it looks, when I hover over the "4am windspeed"...

We had some of that arctic front come in the other day. BRRRR!!!!!

During tornado season I check NOAA constantly.
