Dang, lost a recipe!

I want to make a chocolate bundt cake for my DH's birthday. I found one on here a while back that used a box mix, pudding mix, and mini chocolate chips. I've searched and searched and can't find it for the life of me! Can anyone help point me in the right direction? The OP said that it is her go to recipe for potlucks/office parties and she always gets rave reviews. I agree, it was awesome!

but what I'd really like to see is a local chart showing the DTM for various varieties planted on various dates. **** I'm not sure what you mean by local, and you can share that with us, but I see something like that being an almost impossibility. And that's b'c different folks plant different varieties so you can't usually compare the same variety as grown by different folks, soils differ, amendments differ, the way that different folks grow their tomatoes differs, etc. Just too many darn variables. ( smile) I have always considered DTM's to be sheer guesstimates. I'd much rather see tomatoes IDed just as early, midseason and late season, and give some numbers to those categories, which gives a broader range for each group. Carolyn

okay, I dug through my library of cookbooks and found both the 1963 lst printing of Joys of Jello and an anniversary book. There are several choices. One is jello,& pudding, cooked together and then when cooled you added Dream Whip, That picture looks pretty fluffy. But I used to just make jello, & add real whip cream. Thats a Bavarian. but there is also layered cheesecake, with graham crackers, cream cheese, light cream. It also helps if we know when this started because these recipes were popular at certain times. There was a product called 123 jello I think that came out fluffy because it had whipped topping or something in it. So all of those recipes came out pastel and fluffy. The carnation milk --do you know if it was condensed milk or evaporated? I'll give you the recipe as soon as you guess which it was or have more clues. Maybe there are family cookbooks, or you could remember what the cookbook looked like. the original was spiral bound with a red wineglass of jello on the cover.

One thing about the thinness is that along with the looser dough and easier push comes speed. From the same sized holes, you'll get thicker spaetzle if you push slower. Draining isn't sufficient for removing excess water. Next time, spread them out flat on something really absorbent. I have some squishy (foam inside?) vegetable drying mats my cousin gave me which I use. Or you could do a layer of paper towels on top of newspaper. Or big fluffy bath towels if they're lint free (or paper towels or tea towels on top of bath towels). This is true for any kind of noodles. My old auntie used to make hand cut noodles and spread them on a jelly roll pan to dry. She put the pan on top of her fridge so the heat from the coils would kind of blow dry them. You can also use a blow dryer (if it doesn't blow too hard) or heat gun to speed the drying.

To be honest, I think it would likely be fine by Monday, if you bake the cake today and defrost the coconut carefully in the microwave. That would get you to day 2 today, then Saturday is day 3 and Sunday is day 4. Glad I could help :-D

I had trouble finding it too because I was looking for chocolate and it wouldn't come up because it didn't say chocolate..HA! I've made it too, in fact I still have some in the freezer. It's very good if you like chocolate cake, it's very dense.

I know this isn't the recipe that you lost, but it's a GREAT chocolate cake too. Very moist. I put the chips in the oatmeal while it's still warm to melt them and make a richer cake. A piece of this cake with some vanilla ice cream and a little chocolate syrup over the top and call it a night.

Chocolate Chip Cake

2 cups boiling water
1 cup quick oats
1 stick of butter or margarine

Bring water to a boil then add oats and butter. Stir until melted and let cool. (If you want a deeper chocolate cake don't let this mix completely cool.)

1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 3/4 cups flour
1 tsp. soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1 Tbs. cocoa
2 cups chocolate chips (1 package)
nuts if wanted

Cream sugars and eggs. Add oat mixture then rest of ingredients and one cup of chips. Rest of chips will be sprinkled on cake once it's in the pan.

Sheet pan (9X13) - bake at 325 degrees for 50 minutes.
Bunt or tube pan - bake at 325 degrees for 70 minutes.

Once removed from oven sprinkle top with 2 Tbs. of sugar.
