I do it all the time for chalupas. You can just put them in a 350 oven, spread out on a cookie sheet. A little overlap is ok. I would cut them up first.

Or you can brush with oil first then bake. Or smear it on with your fingers if you don't have a brush. For chips, using oil might be best. Baking dry gets them good and crispy but they are a little bit harder than when brushed with oil. I just used olive oil in the past until I started baking them dry.

I do it in a fry pan. A little or no oil. I place a whole tortilla and let it toast on both sides over medium heat. I then cut them into triangles while still warm on a cutting board with a large chef's knife. They cool and become crispy.

I pan fry with a little peanut oil to make chips or tortillas for tacos.

like trsinc, I bake them... I use flour tortilla's, but I'm sure corn would work the same way. I have an oil spritzer, and I spritz a little olive oil on them. Sometimes I add paprika or other spice. I bake at 350 until starting to get the be the color I want... 10 minutes or so...

Thanks to all! I used one multi-grain flour tortilla and one corn tortilla, brushed both with olive oil, cut into wedges and baked on a pizza pan in the toaster oven at 350 until they were crisp and brown. Worked a treat!

Well, I'm too late, but I bake mine too. I take a stack of tortillas and brush both sides of the first one with oil. Then I add a tortilla to the stack and oil the top, the bottom doesn't need oil because it's sitting on top of the oiled one, if that makes sense.

I brush a whole pile with oil, then cut into wedges and bake, then salt. Easy and yummy.

Im late too but when on Weight Watcher I buy the Mission brand 98% fat free tortilla I spray them with Pam both side and tray bake as soon as they come out I sprinkle with spices they are good and low fat!

It also works to spray skinny slices of slightly stale french bread with cooking spray, sprinkle on soem seasoning and bake until crisp and lightly browned.
