Something I was told this weekend...

I know there have been many posts in the past about people going away from "hand made" items. Well, I have been working on a yo-yo quilt since last year but really got into it in the last month. I was getting more fabric this weekend and I told the lady at Wal-Mart what I was doing and how far I had come. She told me that she's noticed in the last few months that more younger people are making items for gifts and for themselves. She said there was a time there that that wasn't so but it seems it's coming back around! That can mean good news for all your crafters that make items to sell!

Hi Sweets, I really don't sell, but that is good news to me. I love going to craft shows and had noticed that there were less and less handmade crafts! So many things at the shows I recognized from catalogs I had received in the mail. I hope the younger people do learn to do crafts, it is such a source of satisfaction (and a stress reliever) when you are busy creating something, Hope you post a pic of your yo yo quilt when you get it finished. Well, I don't know WHEN I will be finished with it. It's a work on progress and I guess I'm done whenever I feel like it. :)

I'll post a pic in a new post for those that want to see it. I posted it in a few places now I guess but not here yet!

Okay - I have to figure out how to get my name on a stick at the fall swap. I came home with two devils trumpets - but I LOVE the picture in the link Brandon gave with you standing UNDER one of those Angel Trumpets. That is gorgeous!! But - to be fair - the Devils Trumpets sure are happy here...I can't wait to see them bloom. What are the purple blooms on the last picture? And is that RED yarrow? :D Love the classics...reminds me of home... Did I get the ruella from you? If so - it LOVES Chattanooga weather - it is growing faster than the weeds in the yard!

I'm sure Kathleen worked very hard trying to put together a swap package that I would like so I didn't want to post any peace-mil (sp?) pictures. I wanted all of it posted together. Thanks everyone :) Carol, the hydrangeas are limelights that we spray painted blue. Over 300 blooms. It was much easier to arrange ahead of time using dried flowers.
