I replaced ALL of my appliances with LG appliances. Stove and microwave. Refrigerator and dishwasher and a front loading washer and dryer. Wasn't long, dryer was first, all was professionally installed. Dryer leaked the blue dust you find in the lint catcher. Stuff was all over the house. The washer started to smell bad and grew mold even though they magnetically manged the door to so call "prevent" this. Both are white and still look brand new. Dishwasher was next, started shutting down before the load was done. Called about all 3, sent a repair man to fix the dishwasher. Nothing for the dryer.. Washer still doesn't work right. Refrigerator middle door grinds and leaves plastic powder everywhere. DON'T use the ice crusher! You will be digging ice out onto your floor for an hour! Recently the only thing I thought worked good was the microwave but the digital numbers started to flicker and now it sounds like a train breaking on the tracks! I've made up my mind to contact them an will insist on a full refund and they should remove this junk. All kitchen appliances are black stainless steel and also look brand new!

view from the bedroom versus kitchen I am a firm believer in having the view from the room that is used the most. We have east and south views of the mountains and lake. We have it from our kitchen and dining room. The whole family enjoys it every day. If the views were from the bedroom, it would be limited to one room only. Not only that, in the mornings when the view is most spectacular with sunrises, we would not be able to enjoy it since we would be eating in the kitchen where there was no view if the view was limited to the bedroom. I think when you actually live with the view, you give it to the spaces that you use most often. I would put the room that you will use most in the best view side. For example, if you see yourself working there, put your desk out to the view. We see the mountains and lake every day as we eat our breakfast. Half of the year, our dinners also have views. (in the winter, it is too dark outside) We just looked at a house where the view was limited to the living room and bedrooms. (A very old house where the kitchen was hidden in the back). We would not change the way we live where the view was limited to tiny portions of the day.... We would see this as losing view even though the view from the living room is more spectacular that what we have. This is what you learn as you live with the view.... BTW, I have woken up in bedrooms that had spectacular views. It is lovely.... But the entire house had spectacular views... Not just the bedroom! ....IMHO

I said previously, "1. The LG combo unit is an excellent solution for those with no other option." Let me qualify that statement a bit. Yes, if you have no other option, you can have a compact, all-in-one unit that doesn't require 240VAC or a vent. However, it's perhaps better stated, that, while it's a good-looking machine which otherwise functions very well, you should definitely expect 2-6 hour drying times--but, typically, 4-6 if you're a "normal" person. Reviewers which commented, "Most of my loads are done in 2.5 hours," must be washing extremely small loads. Perhaps, a few blouses, and some socks. Certainly no jeans or towels. Add a single pair of jeans to the mix, or a hoodie--and, bam--you're at 4-6 hours drying time. Previous to our purchase, I read every review on the unit I could find. As I said earlier, positive reviews seemed to outnumber negative reviews by about 10:1. I had assumed the few negative reviewers simply overloaded the dryer, which is basically probably true. Knowing this, we thought we were willing to endure longer drying times in exchange for a much expanded pantry/linen closet. But having a gas dryer still connected made the comparison glaringly clear. A vented gas dryer is not only far less expensive in energy costs, it dries clothes 10-30 times faster than an un-vented condenser dryer. For example, something that took only 8 minutes to dry in the gas dryer, took about 4 hours to dry in the LG unit--that's 30x longer. It's these kinds of numbers which are completely lacking in any of the reviews. If drying a pair of jeans, a towel, and a few shirts takes 4-6 hours to dry, it's simply not practical for most people for two reasons: a.) energy costs; b.) the dryer makes its "drain-spin" noise at 20-second intervals, continuously for several hours. Again, we thought the "set-it-and-go-to-work," or "set-it-and-go-to-sleep" approach would greatly lessen the impact of the extended drying times. But, "set-it-and-go-to-sleep" simply doesn't work in a small house--it's too disruptive. My recommendation? Buy this unit if: a.) You have absolutely no other option. b.) I can absolutely sympathize regarding ending up with some appliances handles you don't love. I chose a DW with a beautiful straight handle. Love the performance, love the look. I chose a range and refrigerator for their function, size, and price, but they have the undesirable (to me) bow handles. I wish I could replace them. I'll definitely check out the link that IowaCommute provided. Thanks! I agree that it's harsh to criticize the OP. Sometimes it's not feasible to get every single thing you want within a budget. Just because you purchase an appliance based on function and price does not mean you can't investigate options to improve the aesthetics.
