Is the unit runnning constantly or much of the day? What are the temps. inside doing?

You could try resetting at the breaker, but generally these things don't trip false errror codes.

Your compressor should be under warranty for another 7 years. Another possiblity is that the computer was damaged. Have any poweroutages lately? Storms , which are hitting a lot of the country now produce spikes that can damage them too.

No, the unit isn't running much. I wanted to check the temp but I could not scare up one thermometer in the house. It's on my list for tomorrow. I'd think the unit would have one builtin.

No storms, surges that I know of. The error code is not continuous; from last Sunday until this am it was fine. Since I reset the unit at about 9am today it's been fine.

Any other thoughts ?

You're still under warranty, so call Sub-Zero to arrange for a service call. On my last Sub-Zero, I got the same message when a small leak developed in the cooling coil for the refrigerator compartment. This happened about 3 to 4 years after installation. Apparently, something corroded due to condensation, but it was easily repaired -- and it was 100% covered under warranty. If you do nothing, however, it will get worse, so get it fixed ASAP. You don't want to be into a holiday week with problems....regardless of your warranty, the repair people don't work on Christmas -- so get your call in now!

Thanks for the advice. I have no choice. Although I've been checking all day and "Service" hasn't displayed since early this am, just now the temp is displaying 45 although it's set for 38. Another vacation day wasted on another service call for this fridge. It sure looks pretty and holds plenty but the cheap pos Sanyo it replaced never needed a service call in the 20 years I had it.

The 3 batches of cookie dough I mixed from scratch this afternoon better keep. The freezer seems unaffected so I was able to fill a plastic bag with ice cubes and put it in the fridge. And an hour ago I broke a filling. I've had better days. At least I haven't yet shopped for Christmas dinner.

james was right, freon leak but 2 hr job to repair and parts not stocked. After waiting most of the day yesterday it's not repaired and won't be until 12/28. Not so great with a crowd here for Christmas. Not such great service.

Not too pleased with having this unit rebuilt in my house costing me lost work time. At install, a drawer glide was loose and had to be screwed in. A service call a month after install, the fan was replaced and he lowered the freezer temp to -2 in response to my frosty food complaint -didn't help. This time the tech said the frost is due to bad drawer seals which are beyond waranty. I'll be discussing that with Subzero.

It seems to me all this should have been taken care of in the factory before delivery.

Jude I'm so sorry you've had these issues with your 700. Makes me hold my breath that ours will continue to be okay. Have you gotten this sorted out yet?

I have a question for you if you don't mind, didn't want to start a separate thread since it's specific to this model. It's been a year so I thought I'd vacuum the coils or whatever. But I can't FIND them. I realize it's part of the integrated design. I assumed it was behind the stainless face plate on the bottom of the unit, but no. I can't locate my owner's manual at the moment, and the website only seems to have general instructions, nothing specific for the 700. Am I just supposed to not worry about cleaning the coils on this thing because it's integrated and ergo won't get all dusty (in theory)??? I feel like an idiot, but I'm clueless. Same issue with the fridge drawers elsewhere in the kitchen, no vents or coils to vacuum there either. The wine fridge has them on the bottom, clear as day. Help??? I may have to call Sub Zero....

pirula- yes you must vaccum the coils on the 700 series. They are located on the floor behind the toekick on the right side of the unit. Since you mentioned stainless toekick I'll assume it's from your cabinet maker. Remove this and you'll be looking at a beige metal grille with louvers in it. This is SZ's toekick and some installers leave it off to facilitate easier cleaning. In the corners of this grill are 4 black colored screws, romove them and pull the kick off. You'll see the dusty coils, promise. Be careful when cleaning the fins are easily bent.

No the stainless toekick is from sub zero. But now I realize that what I saw when I removed it needs to be removed. I'll try that and hopefully find vents behind it.

What antss said. I've been vacumning the coils about every 4-6 months and they're sometimes pretty dusty but this is NYC - it's dusty.

Re my cooling problem: the closer it got to Christmas I became increasingly annoyed that I was having a crowd for Christmas and was going to have to pack ice to keep the food cold enough. So when I called SZ on Friday at dawn re paying for the out-of-warranty gaskets on the freezer that frosts my food, I decided to recite my 'I'm not happy' litany for customer service. I'm very pleasant as I recite. It goes: I have this expensive new fridge and it needed parts replaced out of the box, and I'm not happy. I'm having a crowd for Christmas and I don't have a working fridge, and I'm not happy. I'm told there's a leak which requires a major rebuild; this should have been done in the factory or on the drawing board and not in my kitchen and I'm not happy. The cheap Sanyo this replaced worked better than this does and I'm not happy. It goes on. They want to get rid of me.

The rep authorized the gasket repair, no charge and contacted the service company. She was pleased to tell me that they were coming that day to charge the fridge which would hold for the week until they came to repair. I thanked her but told her I was leaving for work, I have already lost a day of work that week for the fridge and was going to lose another for the repair and I asked if they could come Friday evening or Saturday morning to do the charge.

They came Saturday morning and there was a miracle ! The parts for the repair magically appeared so they were able to do the full repair on Saturday am before Christmas !

Our SubZero 736 is about 19 months old ... and I'm ashamed to say I've never vacuumed the coils. Could this be why we've developed an "ice buildup" in the upper freezer drawer? Can anyone tell me the service number (800 number?) to call?

wow, wow, wow. I gotta tell ya, I've never worried about vacumming coils in previous old refrigerators and I was lax about doing it on our Sub Zero's. We waited a year and omg. Gross me out. I'm impressed the units kept functioning perfectly in spite of the enormous dust bunnies.

Thanks again for helping me figure out what I needed to do. From now on, it's every six months.
