House Insurance during Final Construction

texasjerry

Hi,

We have purchased a foreclosed house that is about 80% complete. I was under the impression that I needed to buy a Builder's Risk Policy but nobody seems to want to insure a house that is that far along in the construction process. I just got off the phone with an insurance agent that said I needed a Homeowner's Policy. He said that would be the only policy I could get when a house is already 80%+ completed and it would cover me during the final 4-6 months of construction. Does that sound right? I have my doubts.

Thanks,

Jerry
