Comments (40)We've owned a 36 inch dual fuel Legacy for three years, so a few hopefully helpful hints follow. We carefully measured the multifuncton oven and bought an old Wear-Ever aluminum roaster on E-bay. Fits perfectly with the handles folded and works great, just like when my grandmother used one. We've done a 22 pound turkey and it came out perfectly. The convection oven cuts turkey time down to 10 mins per pound and browns perfectly - or you can use the roaster cover and steam the turkey. The Wear-Ever looks like it was designed to fit in the oven. Used a ceramic wet saw to cut down a pizza stone to fit the oven. Pyrex 9/13 baking dishes work well in the right oven, but they're just enough too long that they only fit on the middle racks. (Guess the door flexes in a little) Could be some other brands of 9x13 are slightly shorter and might work better. Our only real issue has been a tendancy for one of the stovetop burners to go out after a few minutes. We suspect this is a problem with the safety thermocouple, but have just lived without that eye. We're now arranging for repairs, but there are few repair shops in the Milwaukee area with Aga experience. A word of advice: don't buy these stoves by mail order. Comments (3)We've had our Aga legacy for 2 years. I consider it to be one of the most beautiful (and well-functioning) things I own :) The gas range works extremely well and I really love the high BTU burners on the sides. Ours is 44" wide so we got a 48" hood. The ovens are also excellent. It took me some time to get used to all the different options (convection, defrost, etc., etc.) as I previously was the sort of person who cooked everything at 350 degrees until it was done (ha ha). Now I love having all those options! The broiler is great - comes with its own broiler pan. Speaking of pans, the Aga's ovens are slightly more narrow than on other ovens. I have been able to cook absolutely everything I want in the ovens, but I did buy some slightly smaller cookie sheets as some of my largest ones no longer fit....See MoreAGA 6-4 or AGA legacy? Comments (0)Need some advice on a purchase. Legacy: Don't love the construction quality and concerned about the btu being at 15k for wok cooking. Like the size better than the 6-4. It is 44 inches versus 39. 6-4: Has a higher 18k btu and better construction quality. I definitely prefer the cast iron doors. Need an actual performance review since it has been discontinued, which is a slight concern but not a deal breaker. The Cooker isn't near the feasible budget, or of course I would. I have located both items at a dream worthy unused floor model price point which is why I have not entered a Blue Star or other appliance option into the equation. Comments (277)@User @Anne Mulholland Cleaning is the one thing that I really dislike about the oven. But to be far I would hate cleaning any oven :) The top cooktop is extremely easy to clean. Most of the time I just use soap and water. Maybe once a week I will use Cerama Bryte to really polish the top and make it look new again. The grill is easy for the most part. The heavy metal rack and tray\basin can be just washed normally in the sink alone with the aluminum housing it sits on. The steal tray\bason that the rack sits in get discolored and nothing I have tried will remove it. The aluminum housing can also be removed and cleaned. What I dislike about the grill is there is no way that I can see to clean the top were the element is. If anyone has figured that out let me know. The actual ovens are about the same as every other oven that I've had that does not have the self cleaning feature. In my case, I removed the oven racks and the easy slider racks and bottom panel that @A Bowditch referred to. These can all be cleaned in the sink. Even though the manual has instructions on how to remove the vertical side rails that he racks lock on to, I could not remove them. (Cleaning would have been a lot easier once removed). I also removed the back plate that the fan sits behind. Then I used a oven cleaner that was recommended to me by a friend and let it sit overnight. I did not use anything like easy-off as i read that this could damage some ovens and I didn't want to risk it. Some hard to remove spots required the help of a razor blade to help remove. All in all I wish this oven had a self cleaning option, but without being able to remove the side rails i don't know if i would trust using it anyway. Hope that helps....See Morefldirt
