using nero v7

I have been trying to make copies of dvd's given to me by a friend and have been frustrated with nero deciding to work at times, and not at other times.

I followed the instructions given by marf to find the "event viewer" in WinXP. I found 33 errors in the event file since the 1st of Dec. all to do with Nero v7. I have uninstalled and installed the program after disk cleanup and defrag, thinking that would help. It didn't - same thing happens, but occasionally it works just fine????

The error event reads as follows -

Faulting application nero.exe.version 7,0.0.0. faulting module bcgcbpro730.dll.version 7.20.0.0.fault address 0x0011d51b

Now I know what the error is, but haven't a clue what to do about it. I don't know what this means or whether I can actually do something about it. Can anyone else interpret this for me?

You should have bcgcbpro800.DLL - BCGControlBar Professional DLL.
What you have is bcgcbpro730.dll which is an old version.
It's located at C:\Program Files\Nero\Nero 7\Core
Maybe you can update your nero product and it will give you a newer version.
One site reported in 2005 that between 35%-45% of the testers reported that "Nero Burning ROM" abends on module "bcgcbpro730.dll" (bcg ControlBar Professional DLL

Nero Express should work for your burning needs without any problems.

Have no idea why it works fine sometimes or what determines wherther it will work or not.

I just got one, I heard the same things so I bit the bullet and paid $130 for a plant no more then 6 inches tall. I have spoke to a few owner of this plant and they said there are others that taste better but none that look quite the same. The guy I bought the plant from said the figs taste like berries more then figs. I'm sorry I couldn't be of more service but I hope this helps.

I have the same DVD/CD burner on my HP computer and I did have problems burning DVD's after I uninstalled Norton and put Avant on my computer. I found out that I needed to shut down Avant when I burned DVD's or else it just didn't work right and kept running forever and then gave me a message that there was problems and I needed to try again. I think Avant's scanning was interferring with Sonic. Once I turned off Avant Sonic worked fine.

Elaine, I apologize for taking so long to get back to you. I have attached a link so you may download newer firmware. 2.81 is from 2/25/05. 2.03E is the newest version. NECND6500A-V203E.zip is the file you want. Unzip and run the .exe file. DO NOT SHUT DOWN THE COMPUTER WHILE THE BURNER IS BEING FLASHED. Additionally, if you are using philips media, dump them. The media is not good. Stick with TDK, Maxell, Taiyo Yuden, or Ritek RiData (my personal favorite). What brand of media are you trying to use? Let me know how you do. Pooh, you are making me giddy! Gone and 35ft, thank you! The cabs are starting to warm up but the house has a lovely large roof overhang which keeps the heat from blasting in during the summer (a good thing) but also has slowed the warming of the cherry (not as good). Since we just replaced the two cabinets by the stove, I think this isn't all bad, but it is nice to hear that it is looking warm, which was my original hope! As an aside, the first kitchen we did was also cherry, and it took forever to sell (something about buying/moving just as the economy tanked) which allowed me to see the cherry warming up there. The sun beat into that kitchen relentlessly (it was nice) in the mornings, and the cherry turned quickly.
