You all look wonderful, and everyone seems to be having a great time! Linda, loved reading your descriptions, especially the part where you quite nobly slept between Annie and Elery to make sure Ms. Empress' virtue stayed intact before the weddin'. You are a true friend to sacrifice yourself that way:-) Looking forward to seeing the rest of the pictures! Happy Belated Anniversary Sherry and Roger, BTW. And Michele, perhaps the remodeling didn't get finished while you were gone (rats!), but hopefully when you returned home on Sunday eve, it didn't seem so bad after all (I hope:-)

t-bird: You don't get into it. It is designed to be taken down later after the plants get growing. If you wanted to get into it you can pull the row cover out on the end and crawl in. I had to do that to fix a hole I missed in the drip tape. Wasn't fun, but very doable. Here is what it looked like before we got all the bows in. I will leave the cover on until the weather evens out. I am also going to try some broccoli and cauliflower in a low tunnel. Later this spring, I am also going to plant some cucumbers, watermelons and cantaloupe in several low tunnels, if I don't run out of row cover first. Jay

Hi, Im not sure when this tree will come out there is a chainsaw but it needs a part- I may have to look into renting one. I would like to do this soon as this tree is such an eyesore. Im guessing it will come out in pieces to try to avoid hitting the plants or the fence. I already cut a number of dead branches off with the sawsall, but it gets tricky on the ladder by yourself. Im not sure if you can see but in one of the pics you can see a bit of the garden down the side of my property, there is a chain link fence between the properties this is the bed that gets hit the hardest, this year I have actually resorted to the plastic fencing you refereed to and it has helped some. It is about 2 1/2 to 3 feet and they can clear it when the notion strikes. But I can't usually catch the back leg getting over it to weed the bed. (Very clumsy) The back bed is deeper with more space between plants the lattice is temporarily helping to direct them :) around the plants. have thought about the kiddie pool for the lab, could be a lot of fun or a horrible mess, gotta love um. Still wondering about a Japanese maple or if there is another suggestion for smallish tree that would be better suited more interesting for this space. I

Hi yardman - seems like you're using a pretty simple protection method with your windmill too. Do you cover the top of it to keep water off? This is the third winter for my trachy, so it'll be going on its fourth spring outdoors in the ground within the next month or so. I just put a large plastic bag over mine to keep it dry and to protect it from the wind. Even if our trachys get damaged by the zero degree temps from last night, as long as yours has some size to it, it should recover quickly if grown in full sun. I have moved mine every summer that I've had it in an attempt to find the best spot for it, and I've found they need full sun to do well here. Growth is slow otherwise, especially after a cold winter. Yes, I live on Grosse Ile. You're more than welcome to come see my palms in the spring. I also have bananas and hardy yuccas that might be of some interest to you. Hopefully I'll be able to get rid of the bales of straw within the next few weeks.

I'm dying of laughter. Good laughter - Nancy, here we all are, busting our buns shopping on ebay, perusing posts to glean hints about likes and dislikes, you know, the whole stress thing, and you have put together a perfectly balanced and awesome box right from your own work. I love it. I'm jealous! Janet, RIP, had sent me some items from American Spoon in my first ever swap box. I still remember that sour cherry jam! I did some wallet damage when I was in that store last summer and I had to restrain myself! The box itself, with that painting, is incredible. Y'all are warned not to set foot in that store unless you want to be major overwhelmed (but you'll have a big grin on your face).

Okay, I've got to say, with the exception of Annie, not ONE of you looks anything like I imagined. Toooo funny.

You are a very good looking crowd, right down to Dexter.

Michelle -- don't you hate looking at pictures of yourself? We are all our own worst critics. You look just fine -- you all do!

I'm still trying to figure out who I was talking to.
