Maggie's 1st Birthday!

I can hardly believe that a whole year has gone by. It seems like yesterday I was announcing her arrival to you all.

Maggie and I have the best time being together. I'm a lucky Bubbe to be able to have her 2-3 afternoons a week.

We had a big birthday party yesterday with all of her friends and family present. It was a full house of hungry and thirsty people so it's a good thing that the hot dogs and hamburgers were a hit!

Yummy, The cake was a really good bakery cake. !

They look good but I wouldn't keep them in a community pot and I would take them out of the peat. Keep the unrooted cutting's soil from getting wet until they have several good size leaves which is an indication that roots have formed. That goes for all the unrooted cuttings, regardless of the potting mix. Good luck this time. Hopefully next winter won't be so damn cold in FL!!!! Being in Tampa you'll still have to protect them from cold temps so I'd keep them in pots. You can sink the pots in the garden and lift them before the cold temps arrive. They've come back from the roots but if that keeps happening you'll never get blooms. Once a tip dies back you lose the chance for an info on that branch and have to wait for new branches develop.

Thank you:):):D Truthfully, I almost forget it is my birthday since Andrew stole my thunder 4 years ago and was born on the same day! LOL - Really - he is the best birthday gift ever. Brought munchkins to his school today. We had his party last week in case we had the baby early. My sister made dinner for us and cake (roast beast and Parmesan crusted flounder). We just walked home during a commercial break for Dancing with the Stars! LOL - on the way home my son said "mama, that was a really great day". Doesn't get better than that! (Shhhh...there will be a baby arriving by weeks end:) Thanks for making me feel special! I have been reading but haven't been posting as much as I would like - Annie congratulations. What a beautiful couple you are.

Haley, that sounds like SUCH a nice idea! And that's one of my favourite Veggie Tales songs.... from Madame Blueberry, yes? :) Bearcat, we kept ours simple, too. 1 year olds generally get overwhelmed quickly. For Sophie we had a few friends/relatives over for a visit, dinner and cake. With Benjamin, we went and played at Chuck E. Cheese for an hour or so (just the 4 of us and his 2 grandmas) and then had cake at home. Oliver's getting even less for his first... this year we're planning on doing a joint party for all three kids, since their birthdays are all very close. Backyard potluck barbeque with 5 or 6 families with games and stuff. We're going to request that instead of presents, the guests bring a dish to contribute to the meal. Sorry, that was absolutely useless as far as creative ideas go. :) Really, whatever you do will be fun for him. 1 year olds are so easy to please! Just take bazillions of pictures. Wow, girl, I can't belive your still around! Sorry your still on this site where no one else is! I'm so glad to see Johnny is doing so well, my son, Tom, turned one on June 21st and is doing exactly all the same things Johnny is, aren't they great! Like I had told you last time I talked to you, I'm pregnant again, now 6 and half months along! Getting pretty big! My husband has since became a stay at home dad and it's working great, he's teaching Tom so many things, every afternoon when I get home, he's always got something new to show me that he has learnd that day :) Hey, keep in touch, we all miss you! She is an absolute little doll. I just love letting baby have "her" cake and eating it however she wants to. That picture should be framed it is so precious.
