Question About Windows Clean Up Software

This might be my second post. I can't find the other. Sorry.

I run XP3 and IE7. I have Advanced System Care Pro. Based on what it claims to clean it works fairly well.

I like to keep my system sanitized as well as I can. I've been reading about Webroot Window Washer 6.5. Does it do the same thing as Advanced System Care? Any ideas? Thanks, Gene

I haven't used WW in years (Win98 and still have it out on the system in the garage) and have up to recently used ASC (stopped because of the pirating software claim). In my experience they are arguably of the same efficiency in cleaning. In fact, I found ASC's cleaning capability on a current par with CCleaner.

I've always done some non-scientific efficiency tests for system cleaning utilities and found none of them to be 100%. I would rate the three of them at 98%. I guarantee if you run any one of them and then run the another you would find some very minor leftovers.

Unless you use some other available features of ASC or are emotionally attached to it, I would recommend you save your money and use CC.

Thanks for your reply. Seems what comparisons I've found usually dealt with CC and WW. I have to 032810 on ASC and will check out CC before then. Thanks, Gene

Well, there is a product sold in pet stores called Poop-Off that is designed for use with domestic birds. I would soak paper towels in an ammonia and water solution, press them up against the poop areas and let them sit there for 1/2 or so. Them wipe off the poop with them.

So my contractor friend told me that our windows should lift out of the frame. I read the same idea when researching windows (thinking about replacing some while the tax credit is in effect). At first when we tried, the window would shift in the frame but not quite enough to clear it. Finally got one of them out of the frame this morning! So that's a much better solution for my kitchen window I spend so many hours staring out. Lift one sash out, clean it on both sides, and reach out to clean the other sash. With microfiber cloths and Stoner's Invisible Glass! I've seen the Windex Outdoors product but feared that my hard water would leave spots after rinsing.

Question on cleaning up spills/spots on Sorona

Here is what I do: My daughter has repeatedly spilled dark mascara on our Dupont Sorona carpet. I just about freaked when she first did this. But, I use Mohawk's Floorcare Essentials spot remover for carpet. I spray enough of it on the carpet to make it damp, gently work the area with my fingers, taking care to never aggressivly (not sure I spelled that right) rub the area, and then blot with paper towels. Any liquid, including the spill should be pulled into the paper towel. This has worked great. I had to repeat this process on the mascara, but it eventually came out and everything is fine. Many spills can be removed just with water. If your color printer is like mine, the ink is water based, so water should dilute the ink. You may have to make a second or more attempts to remove the ink, but it should come out and you shouldn't have any ring to worry about. As Phila 2009 said, blot and I would add keep blotting. Do the drywall forms used for the gunite stage need to be removed before decking or is it okay to backfill and leave them in place? I would think it should all be taken out but have heard that it gets buried?

Just be sure that unless you are experienced run CC in the default settings. Also, the same for the provided registry tool, use only if experienced.
