Vuwu, you can post photos at whatever stage in your garden's progress you choose. It's up to you. Some people are very comfortable showing the less than beautiful 'before' pics because it's simply an accurate view of where they started. Others (like me) are a little queezy, a little self-conscious about anything less than perfection. I'm getting better about that, because of the very non-judgmental people on this forum. It's amazing how well we remember the gardens we've seen posted here, and folks will tell you "how far you've come", "what a beautiful transformation", "how hard you've worked", "you've accomplished so much". We've all been there at the beginning with you. And if you're anything like me, you will be moved to tears by the warm encouragement of the people who post here. They will quickly become your 'rose friends', and just to clarify, new 'rose friends' can be even better than old non-rose friends because they have empathy with your passion for roses and understand the need to express yourself through your garden. I'll admit that there is some courage involved in posting your first pics, and there is fear that must be overcome, but like any other conquered fear, there is great satisfaction after the victory which you will never know until you take the risk. And now that I've been all noble and unselfish, I can say that I'd really like to see your yard and your pergola and your brickwork and everything you've done so far - which from your previous posts is a whole heck of a lot. Thank you asolo and fordtech. I got all excited. DH and I opened the window and he stuck his hand down the vent and extracted a golf ball size lint ball. Wasn't magic. There is plently of (cold) air going through the vent when the dryer is on. Then we tried fordtech's plan. Alas, there is no option "system check". There is a choice: "Before you call for help". I already did that today and the choices for an electric dryer are to check the circuits (I did) and check the vent (see above). Any other hints from anyone are welcome. Via internet sign-up, Sears can come for 65.00 in another 12 days. A city-wide outfit I clicked on-line can come tomorrow (if I can have them) for 89.00. Money isn't the issue for that difference but I am wondering about the skill level of all these people. Everyone seems to service everything so how deep could their knowledge be. (On the other hand Time-Warner fixed the Turner Movie Channel today that has been broken ever since I can remember, even pre-renovation. Turns out a little tiny part of the wire in the splitter had not been stripped. Doesn't sound right to me since pre-and post-renovation would have had to be the same problem. You add trim to the top to fill the gap above the door. Mount at least one side with some screws so you can remove the trim to get the door off the track. A stop on the non-pocket side (or even two stops) will helo with noise here. Resource Conservation Technology (Baltimore, MD) has a number of brush and felt seals for weatherstripping that can also be used to help reduce sound transmission. Brush seals work best for stopping sound if the opening is as small as possible. You should be able to get the floor gap down to about 1/16 of an inch. If the floor is not level add a sole plate and level it to the door.
