Luckygal, I have been saving toilet shards for a while now, they were smashed up with a sledge hammer!!! I have about 2 five gallon bucks full right now so I will have to go get some more...our city just had a big toilet upgrade rebate, buy a new low flush and get $50 rebate, and the place I was working at was the recycle depot in town,so that's where I get the smashed toilets(they are destined to be recycled into aggragate for paving....)Here's my Throne, it is 4ftw x 6ft tall.(That big blue ashtray is just like someones ashtray here used for a totem....) I got the tile thingy from Home Depot that someone else mentioned recently, sorry can't remember who. They look cheap and I was skeptical that they would work very well, but they are great. I've only tried them on glass and I need a little practice on my technique because even though I scored a straight line it doesn't always break straight. I haven't played with it enough to figure it out, but I will. I haven't tried it on tile, but did try it on a dish and it didn't work for that at all. I like them because when I break the glass with it the pieces just drop straight down. When I use my wheeled nippers the glass usually goes flying. I have a severe case of carpal tunnel and the new cutters sure are easier on my wrists than the wheeled nippers too. I have a wet saw for tile and plates, but haven't gotten a ring saw yet. We went to several yard sales today and DH kept asking me about various dishes but nothing really appealed to me.

"Just wait until you have to pack up all that crap and move it." My SIL just bought a retirement home so they are decluttering their current house as a preparation for selling it--she keeps telling me she can't believe how much STUFF she's got to get rid of. When I go to their house I always admire how it looks nicely organized and without extraneous things all over. However, I also admire her tons of closets and storage space which she says leads to keeping, you guessed it, all that stuff LOL. I've decided I will play a mental game this summer and pretend we have to move; maybe that will be my motivation to get rid of much unnecessary and unused stuff in our house! I use the holidays and shopping for gifts to satisfy any yen I may have to be a retail hunter/gatherer. The past few years I increasingly feel as if I am gorging myself after staying on a careful and healthy diet; by the time January comes I feel so psychically bloated from all the shopping /buying that I need another year to rest up and recover! It's interesting to me to watch my young adult daughter who is setting up her first home. She loveslovesloves Home Goods, Marshalls, Pier 1 etc. And when I go with her I usually find stuff I could easily buy. I have a rule that I can't take anything from those places home the day I see it. That usually short circuits the purchase, I'm rarely motivated enough to fight the traffic and crowds to go back a second time!

Thanks for the compliment. Changes and vegetation and maturity have changed it all a lot--looks natural enough to fool first time viewers. A lot of work cleaning in the spring, adjusting tons of stones. Either they have gotten heavier or I have gotten older. There are some winter pix somewhere show a beautiful winter wonderland before an ice dam flooded me at 16F. Horton, Mike White, David ? really experienced and very generous with help--made my pond a reality, others, and I miss the eccentrics. If you want I will try to find photos on another computer and send on to you. Mucking out in between here, almost ready to go
