Printer Question

I replaced my HP PSC1610 with one identical to it. I uninstalled the old one and installed the replacement one. Everything works fine except when I go to Imagine Zone to get images from my scanner it comes up with "AiO software- The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable" Error 1706

Do I need to uninstall it and reinstall it again? I did have trouble with the computer reading the set up disk.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Almost forgot. When you uninstall, does the printer need to be disconnected from the computer? I know when you reinstall it tells you when to connect to the computer.

I meant to say HP Image Zone NOT Imagine Zone (Sorry)

Took me a little time to figure out that I had to highlight the name of the printer, then right click on it in order to get the, "Set as default printer." words to show, but I finally got it. Thanks again!

Do you have a program that you used to create a card? If yes...WHAT IS IT??? Or are you using a web site as yet unidentified to create a card? If yes...WHICH WEB SITE??? Are you using only the programs that come with Windows to create your card? If yes....WHICH PROGRAMS??? Are you otherwise able to print other text or pictures yes/no? Which printer??? XP...Vista...Win7...Win8...it WOULD help to know.

Sorry for long delay in replying--I only go on line about once a week and missed last week's opportunity. Hubby solved the problem with a new ink cartridge. It was probably that all along. It was just that I couldn't for the life of me find where to "troubleshoot" that printer. My Lexmarks are so simple even I can do them--lol. Thanks all for the recommendations. I'll save them for "next time", as I'm sure there'll be one. Jann

With the exception of 'is it a speedy printer' (it is not), the questions you ask depend on your computer software, not the printer. To print an excerpt from an article, I copy and paste it into a word processing document, where I can adjust the font, etc, and print from there. HP printers can be picky about when they are connected. I would disconnect it, uninstall it and then not connect again until told to do so by the install program.

Yes a reinstall would be the first step.

A basic Google search provided a link to the HP Forums regarding the recommended uninstall of your prior AIO. I have tagged it below.

I also found this. You would have to decide if it is relevant to your concern. I read it as a possibility.

Thank You very much. I just didn't know what was going on???

Another question-- I received a CD that is for set up on the "new" printer (It also has a different printer on it also) Should I use that CD or the original one that I still have from my "old" printer?

I'd use the one that came with the "new" printer. It may have some updated information that will help the setup.

Problem--- Everything on the printer works except for the scanner. It says there is no driver for the scanner. I went to the HP website to download the driver and it says it isn't compatible with SP.
This message still comes up--"AiO software- The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable" Error 1706

Any suggestions?
