I use firefox & windows XP..

Sometime ago I installed ICQ but it kinda took over my computer so I uninstalled it. I still have the toolbar & can't seem to get rid of it. I did a search & several things popped up. Can I safely delete them without causing problems somewhere else? I wonder if this will get rid of the toolbar.. ICQ is not listed in add & remove.

I do see a toolbar called VMN.. I didn't install that so it must have been bundled with something else. Can I delete it out problems? I always have a fear of deleting files something else is using.

You may remove the toolbar at anytime. From the main menu of the toolbar: - Go to "Help", click "Uninstall the VMN Toolbar".

For the ICQ Tool bar remove it from here: Double click my computer, now double click "Local Disk(c) look for the folder called "Program files" Double click it - it opens - now look for: ICQ toolbar\toolbaru.dll Right click that folder & choose delete, reboot the computer.

Here is a hint once you open the -> [program files folder] , put the mouse in there on an empty area and left click, now on the keyboard hit the (I) KEY and each folder beginning with LETTER (I) - will become highlighted keep hitting it till you get to the folder [ICQ]. Put your mouse over the folder right click choose delete reboot / restart the computer.

norton tool bar?

Well I have 3 Norton things showing on the top of IE so I guess I do have the tool bar enabled and one is identity safe and if I am not logged in when I click it I get the screen to log in like this. Then when I click it after logging in I can see sites listed I have stored passwords for and I can click options, edit logins and see every site. Only time I have to log in is if computer is rebooted or shut down and restarted. You can also click the norton icon on your desktop then click settings at the top then click web on the top and on the left you will then see identity safe to click. You can adjust settings for it in there and set a password up if you haven't done that. Hope this helps. Mary
