How to uninstall a damaged program?

Hi everybody, thanks for all your help when I posted previously, I got our computer working again, we can still hardly believe our luck!

There is only one problem now remaining; (it seems)

We can't get back on the internet. We have an internet guardian installed on our computer called Integard. This is provided for free by the Australian government to help families make the internet safe for kids. So far it's been great, but during the troubles with our computer the Integard program has been damaged. I can't uninstall it because it keeps giving a message that there has been tampering or file corruption. Also it shows a message that integard is damaged.

I have tried to install integard again, thinking that it might uninstall the damaged file, but i can't install it again because it needs internet access for that. And that is the problem, we think integard is blocking all sites therefore we can't use internet at all.

How can we uninstall this damaged program or is there anything else you can suggest?

Does your Government have a website for this Integard. I would imagine they would have a Frequently Ask Question (FAQ) section or possibly a toll free number to call. If there is a way, and it is uninstalled, you would eventually need a fresh copy.

This could be a good time for a free application named Revo Uninstaller. Some folks here rave about it. While I personally have used it with satisfaction, I have not used it enough to formulate an opinion.

The only possible holdup is the first step of Revo is for Revo to use the built-in target application's uninstaller followed by a more detailed approach by Revo. Since I have never attempted to use it on a corrupt application I am not sure it will work as desired. Only trying may tell.

I should have come here yesterday early in the morning. Thank you, thank you. Several times you have helped solve my problems.........I did go to the link again, this time I saw that there was a specific method for Windows 7......I had no idea that installing the disc would have an option for uninstall.......I used the disc..........This old thing prints again Thanks, zep, owbist.and damccoy

When I go to that page, it does not list my system information. So I clicked each additional suggestion. No luck. Specifics are: The Firefox plugin is enabled. Nothing happens when I try to open the Java panel. It won't open. The instructions for clearing the cache do not seem right. When I go to the Edit button, I do not have a + or option to expand. So I could not do that one. I did try to find it through tools - options - advanced - network. It says I have no cache being stored for on or offline (I had just run ccleaner before =- so that cleared the cache, I think). I still selected clear now - but I couldn't tell if anything happened. So all the options either showed no problem =- or I couldn't not execute them. Any pointers would be great. Thanks. Lynn.

Graff Bollero finish damage when uninstalled

I am a bit disappointed at the response I have received from Graff so far. I spoke with someone in tech support this morning who asked me to send pictures but said it looked like the damage was caused by the uninstall. While taking better pictures of the damage to send them, I found four more areas where chipping has occurred. I would not have even noticed these smaller chips if I hadn't been looking because of the damage at the base, but they are on the handle, the area where the handle extends from the base, on the pullout and the area where the pullout comes out. This picture of the handle chips is the best photo I could get of the smaller chips. I sent them 6 photos and told them that I believe there is a defect in the finish since there is damage in several different areas, so we will see what happens. The funny thing is, my husband just threw the box for the faucet away a couple of months ago. It had been up in the attic for 5 years, Murphy's Law, lol!

You will certainly need help using a different computer. Download and save Revo on another computer but do not open/run the program. A storage device such as a flash drive would be a good way to do it and a small sized flash drive is now very inexpensive.

Don't forget to try an disable what ever fire wall you are currently using then try to connect again..

have you tried going into msconfig (start>run> msconfig> startup) and shutting any instances of this program from starting up on boot up of your pc? if not do that (reboot), also doing control.alt.delete to get to the task manager and looking to see if you have this program running in there if so end task on it there also. Once you have stopped all running processes of it then try going to control panel add remove programs and seeing if you can remove it there.

It may be necessary to start in safe mode to get rid of it.

I also recommend Revo uninstaller it is a very good program.

Ok I've tried to use revo uninstaller but at the first step it fails because it can't create a system restore point. what a bummer, it does look like an excellent program, I'm still happy to have it anyway!

I looked at the integard website but this is not a problem mentioned in the FAQs, they assume that you can always uninstall it when you have te password.
And that is the problem; I need to put in the password to uninstall the program, and i know the password, but this is when the message comes up to say there has been possible file corruption. SO therefore it doesn't accept the password and I can't uninstall it.

I went into msconfig and I did untick the box so it doesn't start up anymore, also checked the control-alt-delete option and stopped it running.

Still nothing has changed. I will try to ring the Free Toll Nr on Monday, but if anybody can come up with something else? Thank you so much for your help!!

Oh and this is probably really bad but I don't know what a firewall is, or where to find it on our pc??

Sometimes you can uninstall a program in safe mode that you can't uninstall in the full start up mode.
