Well, unless it's a heat issue in the summer, you're definitely not too late in TN to plant carrots or green onions. Bulbing onions from seed, yes, that is probably too late for Long Day/Intermediate Day types, and too early for Short Day types for an overwintered crop (if you do that in your area). We plant carrot seeds here in Michigan any time from mid-April till about late July and get a crop from them. I had quite a few volunteer cherry tomatoes pop up in my melon patch last year, and everyone was perfectly happy. I would say that's mostly and old wives tale. Maybe someone will know of a good reason not to mix these crops, but I personally don't see it as being a problem other than possible overcrowding/shading issues.

If you like spiders and UFs at all, you really might look at some by either Dan Bachman, Margo Reed or Jim Murphy. While some are new and more expensive, there are a lot that are very reasonably priced ( AFTER AWHILE CROCODILE, RED HILL, TOODLELOO KANGAROO,LATER ALLIGATOR) A couple of other older and very reliable late bloomers are SANDRA ELIZABETH- it is a rather old fashioned buttery yellow, but it is considered the marker for very late blooms. It is reliably very late almost everywhere. Also, Sanford Roberts POINT OF VIEW is a great ML-L bloomer. It is a big red and very impressive in a clump. I did a thread or two on some L-VL bloomers and pictured some of these daylilies - one was earlier this week and another was a couple of weeks ago. Good luck with your quest! Remember that hybridizers can only register daylilies as they bloom in their home gardens. They might not ( and often don't) bloom at the same time in completely different climates!

What a fun, 'elegant' table, MMW! Instead of being 'lined w/gold, everything just 'shimmers' in 'silver!' Love the crystal clear Candlewick dinner plates for chargers & those clock plates are perfect for the Holiday! WOW! Great idea using the scrapbook glitzy sheets for placemats! My other fave are the b&w patterned napkins! Love the fold & the design & of course, finishing them off with those 'fireworks' napkin rings!! The mirrors, crowns, party hats are spectacular!! ... & I always love the 'self-timer' light & candles of any sort ...so that is a wonderful find! Mimi, I've been watching "Good Behavior", too. Michelle Dockery is terrific in the leading role. She's totally believable as an American, isn't she? My favorite actress in the series, I think, was Leslie Nicol. Her performance as Mrs. Patmore was so wonderful, a real standout, in my opinion. I always knew that Thomas was redeemable and was happy to see how it ended for him. His character was very complex, and I found him to be very forgivable.
