OH MY GAWD!!!!!!!!!!

These are spectacular! When I opened the box, my younger son immediately wanted one - so we shared (they are HUGE)! When I got back to the kitchen my little elf had eaten 2 more! LOLOL!

He has put me on strict instructions to make more for daddy and nick since he is planning to finish them instead of dinner tonight! LOLOLOLOL!

He said Santa may want some too so I better plan on a double batch!

Scott just returned from Houston and I told him when he came in the door that he HAD to try them...now I'm hittin myself up side the head for that one. I will have to find a GOOD hiding spot - lol.

These are called Santa's Helpers. And i will definitely be attempting them. Like Sherry said the texture is wonderful and the flavor - out of this world. She described as a crunchy cookie with a chewy filling.

I am glad you both liked them. I was so worried. They are not pretty or fancy looking Christmas cookies. They are just yummy cookies.
I gotta tell you: I was pretty disappointed when I got home tonight. Tuesday brought Debbie's pistachios cookies (All gone by Wednesday morning), Wednesday brought Annie's luscious shortbreads (finished the last one off when I got home from work) so I walked in the door and said to DH, what cookies did I get today??? He said None. Waaaaahhh. I want to get cookies every day for the next two weeks, lol!

Ooooh I have my cookies form Sherry and they are delish! Meredith and I each had one, the rest went in the freezer. I love the texture and the taste.

Sherry , Meredith asked that I make a bunch and send them to her in her next care package......that's the height of compliment!

chase, I ws so worried. They surely must be kinda stale by now. The post office promised maximum five days: that was 8 days ago! I told DH I wish I would have sent you caramel turtles instead, which I think would have fared the long trasnport time better. Oh well, next year maybe.

Sherry actually they were not stale at all...promise....I'm not fibbing !

However the same will not be true of the ones still en route to you. Lessons learned, but stale cookies sent in friendship, and the spirit of the season, are way better than any others. It matters only how we accept the gift that others give us , the actual "stuff" matters not. I feel a wee bit sorry for anyone that cares more about the quality of the "stuff" than of the intent of the sender.

Well, I suspect they came yesterday, but they needed a signature since they were international, so they would not leave them. I went to the post office at 4:30 to pick up my Canadian package, and the line was a block long...I kid you not. When I got up to the counter, the package was still with the mail carrier, so I have to go back today. LOL. So, by the time I get them, it does not matter if they are moldy, they are gonna taste awesome! LOL. (I am kidding about the moldy) Incidentally, my DH was only out of the house a total of an hour yesterday...of course that is when they tried to deliver)
