Problem with Hotmail

When I open an email it opens the content for about 2 seconds then goes back to the Inbox. I had this happen before and I deleted the Favorites link to Hotmail from my list then closed everything out, reopened Hotmail and put it back in the Favorites list. This worked for the last 6 months, now it is doing it again but I can't fix it this time.

How can I get the emails to stay open?

Perhaps if you were to clear your internet cache (like using CCleaner) and delete your Hotmail/Windows Live cookies and password (if you use your browser's password manager), close and restart your browser and try signing in to your Hotmail account "from scratch" things would work. ??

are you going to it from the msn.com page or from the hotmail.com page?
try the alternate of which ever you are using.

Things don't seem to show any sign of slowing down. People are still steaming about their accounts. Below is another link to a brief article on the issue. FWIW, I apologize for not naming this thread more accurately. I should have called it "Warning for Hotmail Users" or something so people don't think it's a post stating my own problem with the service. Thank you both. Yes, Breen, hopefully it is just a snaffu right now, due to their updating. On the email I sent to XXXX@ excite.com yesterday at 2:23PM I received 2 delay warnings and just now received a warning that it was a failure. Unable to deliver message to the following recipients, due to being unable to connect successfully to the destination mail server. Luckily the email is attached. Heck, I can't remember what I had for lunch yesterday, let alone who all I emailed about what? Sheesh...wish they would get all their ducks in a row ans quick. The member @excite.com hasn't had problems that she is aware of anyway, receiving emails from other folks. Sorry to rant. Sue

yep DA I have had to in the past do some back door entries LOL well I guess it just needed to hear me complain a little because finally it seems to be back and working, hope it lasts. With all the changes they are doing almost daily it will likely be hit and miss. I am not liking a lot of the changes and may end up forcing me to change my primary email to one of my other ones or at least have it fetch the hotmail for me and not have to deal with the actual hotmail interface. Had to use my gmail today and realized that at some point recently my entire address book disappeared, all that is now showing up is my hotmail addy and my husbands addy, no clue why gmail would have made any changes that would affect my address book. Maybe you might want to spend some extra efforts to get rid of the live.com outlook.com hotmail.com Cookies on that laptop. Maybe one is corrupted and stuck. Ccleaner newest version would be a good start and look in the cookie options.

You might also look at your Options. My Options button is on the right side of the Windows Live Hotmail page that I use, settings are under More Options and then choose Hotmail on the left sidebar. I am not sure which setting could be causing that behavior.

Thanks. It stopped on its own, but at least now I have some other options to try. I have CCleaner and think that I did that between the problem and when it stopped, so that may be the solution!
