just keep in mind that android tablets let you install the kindle app and the nook app so you can have all of those on one device. It really depends on your needs and wants as to what you get. the tablet with the best sound that I have owned was the vizio it had 3 speakers so no matter which direction you held it in you had stereo and the sound was fantastic. Wish more manufacturers would be more interested in the sound quality and take a lesson and put at least 3 or 4 speakers on them. I often struggle hearing with the one small speaker especially on my phone. I love love love my new Asus transformer tf300 10" tablet with dock but it too could use some improvement in the sound and speaker department. My husband still absolutely loves his lookbook in fact he now has his and mine and I am trying to make him transition over to my Vizio tablet so he has more options and can do other things on it. He is fighting me he wants to stick with his lookbook he is not a fan of the touch screen he keeps touching things by accident then I hear swearing lol. He is not a good student is all I have to say LOL That lookbook is extremely light weight you will not likely find any tablet that is that light.

I own two Kindles and DH has one. Before the Kindles DH stopped reading much due to the his older eyes. He used to read a lot. Now he enjoys reading again. I still read both paper and Ebooks but now prefer the Ebooks also. At some point eyes tire easily as we age even with reading glasses. Not so with the Kindle. Love my Paperwhite, even in a dark room. I've decided to stop buying books as long as I can get them as Ebooks. Been getting rid of all the old paperbacks around here. Giving a few to friends, donating a few to the library but most are going directly into the recycling bin. The only books I really want to keep are those out of print, those with illustrations and children's books.

Why did you give it to Amazon?

Yes, if you want to borrow e-books Amazon Kindle is not the place to go. That is what the library does - let you borrow books. Amazon takes your money. I did try the library but that didn't work for me as I don't finish my books fast enough. Or there was a waiting list of 175 for popular books and when I came up on the list I wasn't ready for a new book. It may have improved by now as that was a few years ago and trying a different library system might be a good idea. For now I'm content to read inexpensive books from Amazon Kindle - either because they're just not expensive or they are on sale. Rarely do I buy a full price book - usually only if it's something DH and I both really want to read.
