While your in MSCONFIG HPWuSchd2 Unless the software is antivirus or firewall software, we always recommend against background tasks that check for software updates. They typically slow down boot-up times, often generating errors during the boot-up process, slowing down your Internet connection, particularly if you are on dial-up rather than broadband, and the worst behaved ones install software without your knowledge, potentially creating conflicts. In the case of HPWUSCHD2 we have seen it occasionally crash on boot-up on some PCs. Most importantly, if your printer works fine and without problems, there is no need to fix what does not need fixing through the installation of the latest drivers whenever you are prompted to ! Only update your drivers when you actually have problems that need fixing - to do that, navigate to HP through our Drivers page. Delete this task immediately on the Startups tab.

Check and see what you have loading in the TaskBar for icons beside the computer clock. Sometimes, if you have the Hotmail icon there, this will slow down the boot times. I have stopped mine from loading and go thru the MSN site when I want to check my Hotmail account. Another source may be your Anti-virus program looking for updates on each boot.

Here is some information I got from a colleague of mine. As far as using a borrowed disc: "The only problem may be that if the installed system has had a Service Pack added to it, the disk will need to be the same or there'll be no Repair option, just reinstallation. In other words, if the system is at SP3 level, a WIN2000 SP2 disk won't work". There have been 4 service packs, so it's more than possible! Windows key: will you need it? "As far as keys is concerned, it depends. Sometimes yes. sometimes no. I think it depends on which Service Pack has been installed and whether the key data is accessible when doing the repair". gnomelover, Sounds like your machine may have a suspension problem which is allowing the drum to move more than it should, thus ripping the boot. Since this problem has occurred a few times, the tech should look at the cause of the problem, not just the symptom. Kingpintoo, I have had my HE3t washer for over 4 years and it works as well as it has the day I got it. It is odor free, and clean around the boot and even between the metal wash basket and outer drum. There are so many factors involved that can affect a washing machine, including user habits, environment, water composition, and additives used, that I am not surprised that sometimes people experience a problem with their machine. Of course, it is never fun to be one of the people experiencing a problem, but that does not mean there is an inherent flaw with the machine. I do not hear of the wide range of problems with this machine as I had with the Neptune washer, and I believe many more of these models (Including whirlpool and kitchen aid versions) were sold than of the Neptune.
