check reviews at amazon... i've had many many bluetooth devices, work w/ several people who have had their own collections too (we need them for work). i've never used one of those that self contain a speaker like that. if it's free and you don't need it to work well, say for work, or will rarely use it, then try it. my co-workers and i have pretty much found JawBone to be the best earpiece and right now 2 are trying a new speech-text device. ~ liz

I use to have a couple of very Cheap Bluetooth Dongles that I used and they worked great. They did after many years of service fall apart! I tried replacing them with more expensive dongles and couldn't get them to work. Snidely is right, kinda hit and miss. I do however think your problem my be deeper. Since the release of Windows 10 there have been lots of problems with WiFi Adapters and Bluetooth Adapters not functioning correctly or not at all. The 2 Acer Laptops I purchased a year ago had Windows 8 installed when I purchased them. I installed Windows 8.1 shortly after the purchase. The WiFi/Bluetooth Adapter worked great in Win 8 & 8.1. Once I installed Windows 10 on July 29th neither the WiFi or the Bluetooth worked. I ended up buying two New Cards for the Laptops and now the WiFi/Bluetooth are working great. My sister purchased the same laptop with the same WiFi/Bluetooth Card, after the Windows 10 upgrade her card works fine, no problems. The funny thing, the card that stopped working worked fine in a different Acer Laptop with Windows 10 already installed!
