I reran Malwarebytes (the 3rd run) as instructed. It reported "The scan completed successfully. No malicious items were detected." I have a copy of the happy details which I can post here if you still want to see them. I rescanned with Spybot and this time it gave me the bright green all-okay check mark and made no mention of virtumonde.sci. I retried the TrendMicro Housecall and it made its way through all the C and D files and I think through the grayware/spyware category when it came to a halt and the dreaded box appeared saying "An error occurred while trying to transfer data from the Internet. Do you want Trend Micro Housecall to try resendingÂ". I did retry several times but the box reappeared repeatedly. At the time, the progress tab on the left showed the program was "updating security check information". Trying to learn what I could, I clicked on the results tab and it showed ADWARE_MEMWATCHER (98 infections) but the program and computer were frozen there and I could only close the browser. I did have AdAware installed on my computer but uninstalled it in July 2008. I uninstalled using the Add/Remove feature, I uninstalled because of a thread in this forum related to compatibility issues between Spybot and AdAware. Anyway, I digress, but IÂm relating these events in the order they appeared. I came back to this forum to report and saw additional instructions about disabling TeaTimer, etc. In trying to find out how to do so, I was in Spybot and clicked on the recovery tab. There I found a backup for virtumonde.sci. The system wouldnÂt allow copy and paste of what it was saving in backup so I copied it manually (and hopefully without error). Sounds like you've just about declared it dead :) If it is, it is, but I just wanted to try to narrow it down, and I didn't want to throw money around willy-nilly in the hopes of figuring out what the problem is. Your search took me to Ebay Canada. I took the liberty of changing the .ca to .com to get Ebay US, but with the same search. Why pay extra shipping if I don't have to? Like I said, I'm a novice at this, so I may not be entirely sure what I'm looking at, but from what I've noticed, I only clicked on the ones that had 3 memory slots (I have three sticks, so might as well use them), and from what I could tell, all the ones I looked at were listed as used, and total with shipping they still came darned close to $90. I did see this one below which ends in the morning (hopefully nobody here will sabotage me and bid against me!) and comes with a CPU which is slower than mine. I don't know the difference between a K8N-E and a K8N4-E. At least in the one I showed you earlier this morning, the MB was used, but the CPU that came with it was an UPGRADE to the one I have now. In fact, it's the fastest chip that can go in that board. The chip by itself (ATHLON 3400 CPU, 754 socket) is selling for $25US anyway on Ebay. I just thought overall, the whole repair would be cheaper, since I can replace my CPU for under $10, but if the going price of these motherboards means I'm going to wind up paying (total with shipping) $80-$90 anyway for a used board with no CPU, I just as well get the one with the 3400 in case my CPU is fried as well, correct? A follow-up to my previous post that was a response to the question quoted in same response ... Yesterday's load of clothing had no suds in the final rinses. Ran a Sanitize (not "clean machine") cycle right after that, with no detergent or bleach, for routine cleaning. ~Today, I washed a small load of clothes, in our Miele W4842 FL washer, that consisted of: my husband's microfiber travel blazer size Large or XL (it has been washed a few times previously, in our old top-load); three pairs of nylon soccer shorts; one size Med. cotton tee shirt; one pair wicking fiber athletic socks, two medium tote bags made of nylon woven with either a plastic or vinyl laminated to fabric. I mostly tossed in the other items with the blazer in order to give it a fuller load. I did not think washing *just* a blazer would be a good idea, but what do I know....I'm still on the FL learning curve. I used the cold water setting and one Tablespoon (15ml) of Persil Color Gel (liquid) on the Wrinkle-Free setting. Our water is moderately hard (right in the middle of the hard/soft water scale) and moderate in pH. Package directions suggest 40ml for soft water, so I went with approx. one-third (1/3) of that due to the smaller size load. Suds; almost two inches of suds in and around the laundry and on the door. Suds in all the rinses. When the cycle finished, there were still suds in the gasket fold and on the gasket. Next, I ran the entire load thru a Delicate/Cold cycle and NO detergent. Still had suds in the water, including all three rinses in that cycle, so I next ran it all thru the Rinse/Spin cycle twice. Either that blazer was retaining a lot of detergent from its two or three previous washes in either Charlies Soap or All F&C, or one Tablespoon was too much for the size load and synthetic type fibers. Or maybe both theories are right? Now that I've had this machine for a few months, I am able to use more than 1/4 of the suggested dose of any brand. If there was indeed detergent build-up/residue from the old TL washer, it is finally all gone by now. It would appear that way, since now I can use more detergent. Possibly the synthetic fabrics don't absorb the water/detergent mix, and I needed less than 1 Tbsp. for today's load? Truth is stranger than fiction.

Rerod, it seems like you're not finding the information/opinions you need here to help you make your decisions, and it sounds like you ran into a similar situation on the manufactured housing board you tried. I think that's because as much as people really want to help, you are dealing with a niche issue that most of us haven't experienced. We welcome new and different dilemmas, but you may be frustrated because most of us lack the expertise you need. I wonder if you've looked for any forums for the homesteading/back-to-the-land/prepper lifestyle. That lifestyle might be a little more hardcore than you're interested in, but I would bet those folks have wrestled through a lot of the decisions and issues you are currently considering. I wish I knew of a forum like that to recommend to you, but maybe someone else here does? If I were searching one of the places I'd look is Reddit. There are subreddits on just about everything, and I wouldn't be surprised if there's one for homesteading. Anyway...just throwing that out for your consideration. I wish you all the best with getting settled on your property, and I hope you'll share your progress with us as you go along.
