Shaddy, I think you have to be using FF, it is a FF add-on. You do not need a link. In FF go to your tool bar, click on tools, then add ons. There will be a search bar in the top right corner, type "no squint" and search. it will come up, choose install and restart FF. That is one of my favorite add-ons. With my cataracts it really helps, both in font size and in coloring those glaring white pages. I didn't understand your question about the colored ink. that is very unusual because one of the big things with firefox 3 was the speed increases in the bench mark tests done for firefox3 it had much higher speeds and much less memory use than earlier versions on all the tests. (which means less bloat and less hogging up of our precious RAM and CPU resources) I read where a few people who saw slow downs later found out it was due to one of their add-ons. Most of the things that are "new" can easily be changed to the older version view like the address bar. Bookmarks can be removed if you go in to your area for organizing bookmarks. There are many security improvements in 3 also, warnings to let you know if you are on a bad website or if there is a phising attempt etc, very helpful to keep you from wandering into a trap. The reason I wait is because I use a lot of firefox add-ons and it takes time for the authors to get them all updated and working for the new version so I give them time to do that then I switch over. But I also read up on all the articles I can find so I know what to expect before I jump in.

first thing you need to do is find out what is the proper resolution you are supposed to use with that monitor and make sure it is set properly in your windows settings, using the wrong resolution can be damaging to your monitor. Look up your monitor and find the stats for it or look on the manual that came with it and find the stats. Go to your desktop and right click then go to the tab for your monitor and make sure the slider is set to the proper matching resolution and settings for your monitor. If you need your text size larger everywhere including on the desktop icons and text you can go into the settings there in advanced and change the dpi settings. Write down what it was set at so that if you need to go back you know what to do. change the dpi and apply and see if that helps. Read the info on the new monitor for the button on the front of the monitor and see if there is an auto set button, you may have to do some adjusting using those buttons. To increase the size of the fonts in your browser only you go into the settings options for the browser itself and change the default font size, the directions depend on if you are using IE or firefox which is it? I would do the change in the settings for default rather than doing the change of text size option in view. Just be very sure you follow the proper resolution setting for that new monitor.

Thanks, bbbluz. The main thing I want is not to have to adjust the font size every time I go to a web page. I'll give that NoSquint that Bob recommended a try. If I can set each page, and it remembers the setting, then I can live with making new settings with new webpages, although I'd rather Firefox did it for me like it used to. Dee
