Don't put your work in a public access album, if you want to put it online put it only in a secure lockable password access album that you can share by use of a password. If you put it out there where everyone can see it and all the search engines can access it then there is not a lot you can do.
You can set up your photobucket to be secure and for personal use only and not shared or linked to. Most all have the option of do you want to share or not.

You can of course notify the site that is using your picture and tell them about it and tell them if they want to use it how much it will cost them. In this digital age proving you have the original is not as easy as it once was.
There are ways to embed in the code of the actual picture your identifying info.

Best thing is to not put your photos online period if you do not want someone somewhere to use or take them. There is truly very little that can be done once it is out there. Can you afford the time and money involved in trying to police them? What if it was stolen by someone in Russia or China? rules vary and fighting those kinds of battles are hopeless.
Only using very low resolution copies of your originals is what should be done with any image, that way when they are stolen all they have is a very low res image that they can not do much with.

also under your account options there you will find an area that says Blocked users make sure that you have that set up blocked so that no one can link to or follow.

be sure you set your album settings to not allow copy and sharing.

Change your account to private, all your albums to private, password protect them with strong secure nonsense passwords and lock it down that is about all you can do with photobucket. And that is not fail proof because there are hacks listed on google for how to circumvent that too even youtube videos on how to do it.

I read in our local paper that anything you put on on line can be taken and there is no punishment for the guilty party. By posting it on line, you are making it public property. I know there are people who will disagree with this, but even DVD's that are copied, they can't prosecute you unless you sell it for a profit. The FBI came to our city and raided a local flea market and found 50,000 copies of new movies and music. They could have prosecuted the guilty parties but they didn't. I am assuming they promised not to do it again because they haven't. Our local paper interviewed a rep from the FBI and asked him what piracy is, he replied with "copying for profit". So having a photo taken would never be taken seriously.

I copyrighted my travel journals for fun and I had to go through the United States Copyright Office, paid around $25 dollars. It's hard to believe someone could get it done any other way unless photos are different from written matter.

Perhaps a Google search using the keywords " how copyright pictures" (sans quotes) will help you. A cursory review of the report showed several potential information sites.

Photobucket too allows editing to include copyright info.

Good luck. I would be upset too if my pics had been pilfered and were being used for profit by someone else.

Go to the pic at P-bucket, and check the box below the pic and Edit above the pic.
Then choose
Decorate, and then text. There are several options for size, font, colors, placement, etc.

Someone I met while on my last cruise sent pictures to me and it had something on it, the word photo I think so you wouldn't want to take it. He gave a password to the people he sent the photos to so we could see it without the word across the front. He had a camera, a tripod and a bag loaded with equipment. He lugged that everywhere so I thought he was a pro. I would have asked him for a picture of Buckingham Palace, but I did not see one of his pictures that wasn't blurry. I could and did take better pictures with my little cannon.

If you right click on any photo then click Properties you can see a lot of data built right into the image file. You can even write into the file yourself and this stays with the photo.

Of course it can be ignored - or by those who know it can be removed. The better cameras 'implant' a large amount of data
