Similar problems and resolutions note this is specifically for 2000 based systems, it does give info as to causes for this type error however. have you recently upgraded your windows media player? in some cases it seems to be causing those type errors. Readme for Windows Media Player 11 for Windows XP Also please try this, go to your browser and clear out what ever you have in it for your home page, change it to google or msn or some well known site, or leave it blank, clean out all of your cache, temp internet files, cookies, history, etc in your browser, close all instances of the browser and see if that makes a difference. One thing that definitely is causing this is an improperly scripted website so it is possible that what ever site you have as your homepage could be causing it. Also please make sure you are using the very latest version of java, if not update it. you can use the secunia tool to see what needs updating. Online Software Inspector You did not mention which version of firefox you are using either, if you have not moved to version 3 yet there was still just a new update for 2.0 versions, have you done all recent updates to your particular version? 2.0.0.15 is the latest version of the 2.0 firefox. Do you have any added toolbars on your browser such as yahoo, etc? if so try removing them restarting browser and see if that helps. You should be able to go to add remove programs and get rid of toolbars. Yahoo has specifically been named in many instances. Since this is often a badly written script issue there are a LOT of things that could be causing it which is why there are so many things to try. Please let us know if you get results.

I would download the itunes installer from Apple and run it without uninstalling. It should recognize that there is an existing installation and do a repair or something along those lines. But I would install with the installer rather than just trying the new updates. It could be that the files you're missing are files that aren't used all the time.

See that is where a problem may or may not occur I'm not a 100% here especially if it originally came with its own recovery disk. That being said I do not know what other options you have (To set up Xp now, press enter 2) You could try this it will wipe the disk and should reinstall xp, and this will take a good bit of time and you will need service pack2 unless it is already included on the disk you have. Then install a free virus program, firewall, and your internet software. How old is the pc? Let see if others chime in here also.

If you prefer IE then use it, Microsoft issued the update to fix it a couple of days ago so make sure you have that update on your computer and go back to IE. The latest version of Firefox has major changes which could be some of the problem. When I run into the login problem here at gw I clear the cache on the browser, then do the login on the actual main page of gw not one of the forums, it does seem to make a difference. To get to the main page go to the top of the KT to the top left corner where the green house is click there use the login on the page it opens to. There's a thread here about the update with information and the link. Check your Windows updates to make sure that you got it.
