I have never seen a Honda on sale either but My wife manages a Dollar Giant store out here in Alberta and she has sales on her seasonal items and whatever doesn't sell gets carried over.Sometimes she puts stuff on sale if an item is discontinued or if packaging changes. I agree with saxman1 you can get some great deals on lawn mowers during the winter.You can find deals in late fall too but you gotta be looking for them and if you want a Honda you may have to wait until spring to get any discount or just bite the bullet and shell out some major cash now.

Thanks. I think everyone here knows that I really enjoy my garden. I like the fact that I have so much diversity that there is always something going on. The daylilies. lilies and roses are the stars of the summer garden here but afew years ago when I started with Iris was when I focused more on extending the spring show. Now I am adding spring bulbs. I want it to start with the crocus and Daffodils, go to the tulips then Dutch Iris. Then pick up with the Siberian and Tall Bearded Iris. Somehere in there the Clematis bloom. That brings us to the roses blooming and right after the Asiatic Lilies. After the Asiatics the Oriental and hybred lilies bloom while the daylilies start up. The daylily season is long around here as I have many, many late and extra late bloomers as well as my main daylily beds. Along about when the main daylily bloom is done in July, the roses have their second flush of the year. After that the sedums start their bloom. Summerlong color is added by various and many honeysuckles I have here as well as some of the perennials like Coneflowers, Shasta Daiseys, Hollyhocks, Agastache and yarrow. Adding to all of this are my favorite annuals that bloom summerlong. PLus I have numberous flowering shrubs that start in spring and go in sucession until summer like Serviceberries, Various Viburnum, Azealas, and lots more that I am forgetting to name. It is a very busy garden and I love it that way.

I don't see the legs you like? I also don't understand the solid sides on the open end. Why not just legs like on the green island? Do you need drawers opening toward the dishwasher? The inspiration pics you show are more traditional in feel with things only opening on the sides. The look of having drawer fronts on the end and on the side takes away the integrity/authenticity/genuineness of the piece...Like you know it's lying to you somehow, since it's not possible for real drawer fronts to be both places. Does that make sense? If you want the solid sides on the open end if you want the drawers that open toward the dishwasher, I'd try to make those sections look similar from the side to give it symmetry. (Maybe just vertical framed panels in each place) Otherwise, I'd open the open end and support it with a leg like on the green island, and I'd divide the drawers equally along the side for the rest...either 3 equally wide columns, or cut it to 2 columns, letting the end toward the dishwasher be fairly plain...Again, maybe using framed, vertical panels, 2 or 3, side by side. I would leave it all drawers, because I went with all doors to copy my inspiration island, but for function, now wish I had drawers instead. I might actually change them, because my dh is my cabinet maker and is a dear enough to do it if I want.

The rain was a blessing here and I keep hoping for rain to come to your garden. I collected over 300 gallons of rainwater for my orchids. The rain also brought a zillion weeds and plenty of rust and blackspot to older leaves. I could not get them all cut off this year. The big multipetaled roses rotted or balled up in the wet. Not lamenting it. Just trim them off and better luck next year. Reading about RRD and gophers and voles makes me grateful. I'm happy the rain cleared away the salts and now the plants want to be fed. Lemons are in full bloom. Camellias and azaleas that I put under the eaves are happy they get me watering with rainwater but they didnt get soaked or blown about by the winds. The jacaranda is busy filling up the gutters and covering the roof so that is a continuing project. I dont get grumpy about it and all that drop goes on the compost pile. That tree has to put up with smog and summer heat. Glad to see it getting rainbaths and waving in a blue cloudy sky. Been my friend for over 50 years. She shades my camellias and ferns. She gives the hummingbirds joy. Like a giant fern in the sky with her awesome blue purple flowers, shes a delight to be around. Daffodils did well here. Dutch iris lasted longer than usual and the flowers were large with saturated colors. Sweetpeas are everywhere. They sowed themselves and I put up bamboo teepees for them wherever they appeared. The hills are green and mustard glows on them. poppies and lupines are here and there outside the city on the hillsides. All winter I made charcoal for the garden. Big piles of glossy black charcoal. I heard that it holds the nutrients from the mulch and compost near the roots and is a slow release afterwards. My neighbor sold his home and gifted me a great quantity of dried wood so I turned it all to charcoal for the plants. Speaking of fire, I went to Big Basin earlier this year to see what remained of that paradise. The new green growth on the redwoods is a miracle. How they could survive that inferno! Even plants on the ground coming back. Of course I miss the old woods and the cool shady dense environment. Now its fuzzy green poles in a sun filled park. But they did not perish. I hope your plants can live, hang on long enough until the rains come again. Just a little longer.....
