I'm drooling over your flowerbeds -- they're just gorgeous and reflect a LOT of work! I have the red Asiatic in that first pic, and always get a lot of compliments over it because it's in front of a white fence.

Nice, really nice. I see that slope where you planted the daylilies, really looks good, that was a great idea.
I am having some sun today, I get ready to go out, and then it starts to snow, now it has done that twice to me already, so frustrating!!. Thanks for sharing.

Oh my goodness! Love all your pictures. What is the name of the second to last picture of a daylily? Also is the last picture one of the new orange coneflowers with the orange daylily? I really love them together like that. Keep the pictures coming!

Second to last picture is CARNIVAL IN MEXICO. You can't really tell from the picture but the flowers are huge. I love it and it was new for me last year. The daylily in the last picture is GALA. Those coneflowers were new last year.

Those flowerbeds are beautiful! Love them and I love the lilies. Hah! If DH only knew you and your gorgeous were the inspiration for so many of the beautiful flowers in my yard...funny those, all he ever does now is talk about how pretty the yard is. No complaints anymore.

Lovely photos Rita. It is always good to see the daylilies in bloom and reminds us all that the season will soon be in full swing.
I saw CIM last summer on the AHS Region 4 garden tour and it is gorgeous in person. I take alot of photos in full sun to see how the appearance will be and it still one I'd be more than happy to add.

Beautiful pictures again. They remind me that it's a great idea to take lots of garden shots and not just individual flowers. Carnival in Mexico is on my want list. Looks like a great performer too if it bloomed like that its first year.

sayhello- Those red lilies in the first picture are a stand of RED ALERT lilies that I have had for two years now with this year being the third.

Julia- I take many overall gardenviews as I love to look at the garden as a whole. Well, of course one can't get the entire garden but slices of it in different areas. Closeups alone don't tell the true stary of a garden.

Val- I am so ready for spring and stuck inside on a rainey day so was reduced to looking thru pictures from last year. So I posted afew to remind myself that it really will get green and colorful around here soon.

Kay- There can be no complaints about your beautiful yard. I get inspiration from other peoples gardens and often adapt ideas to fit my own garden. What you have done there in afew short years is truely remarkable. I love your garden.

prettypetals- It changes some each year but usually looks good. If I don't like something I move things around.

Ah, I just love it. I like the mixes of plants too. I'm not sure what it is, a blue salvia or maybe catmint cascading over the edge, just so pretty and really pops with the oranges, reds, & yellows of the daylilies.

Nancy- It's WALKERS LOW Catmint. I love it because it is always in bloom.

oh my goodness.My jaw dropped to the floor.That first picture with that bunch of Red Lilies is so gorgeous.Well,I was about to ask what that low squatty plant was with the blue flowers thats hanging over the edge there in the corner by the steps.I guess its the catmint.Wonder how that would look in a hanging basket.What is that daylily in your 5th photo?.Goodness.I been scrolling up and down for nearly a half hr,looking at all your gorgeous photos.Now,I am REALLY injoying this,with all these photos of your gorgeous gardens.

Jean- The Lilies are Red Alert Lilies. You should have some of them if the darn deer didn't eat them all on you. They have started to come up already here this spring.

Our weather has been uncharacteristically cool this spring. I haven't even gotten all my roses pruned yet let alone anything else. It's very discouraging. Then I see the beauty of your garden and it brings it all home to me what all this is about. You have done a masterful job of combining colors and plants. I can only imagine the hard work it has taken you to achieve all of this....Maryl

I thought it might be catmint, Rita. I have some catmint, and love it, although I am not sure it is Walkers Low. It just glows against the brick.

I think this year you should take a picture of your front yard every month from across the street like you did last week and then at the end of the season post them all to see the difference. It is hard to believe it can go from nothing to all of the colors in these shots!

Its been a very cold spring here too so lots of plants haven't even started up. And Catmint is a great plant, it just thrives and blooms with no care needed at all.

So Debbie, I will take pictures from accross the street and see how it looks thru the summer. There is only one picture here in this batch of the front, you can see the sidewalk in the picture. But the front does look slightly different this spring from last. Fist off I put in these little belgium block mini terraces to finish up the left side. I also moved out the daylilies that last year were at the foot of those trellis in front. Then I planted all the daffodils and tulips.

I am so excited to find out that that beautiful dayliy is carnival in mexico and I have a bunch of it. I am so excited. Once again I loved your yard,

All of your landscaping looks wonderful but just wait until it all fills with color! I can't wait to see how it changes. What a show. Your neighbors must really enjoy it!

Thanks. I think everyone here knows that I really enjoy my garden. I like the fact that I have so much diversity that there is always something going on. The daylilies. lilies and roses are the stars of the summer garden here but afew years ago when I started with Iris was when I focused more on extending the spring show. Now I am adding spring bulbs.

I want it to start with the crocus and Daffodils, go to the tulips then Dutch Iris. Then pick up with the Siberian and Tall Bearded Iris. Somehere in there the Clematis bloom. That brings us to the roses blooming and right after the Asiatic Lilies. After the Asiatics the Oriental and hybred lilies bloom while the daylilies start up. The daylily season is long around here as I have many, many late and extra late bloomers as well as my main daylily beds. Along about when the main daylily bloom is done in July, the roses have their second flush of the year. After that the sedums start their bloom. Summerlong color is added by various and many honeysuckles I have here as well as some of the perennials like Coneflowers, Shasta Daiseys, Hollyhocks, Agastache and yarrow. Adding to all of this are my favorite annuals that bloom summerlong. PLus I have numberous flowering shrubs that start in spring and go in sucession until summer like Serviceberries, Various Viburnum, Azealas, and lots more that I am forgetting to name. It is a very busy garden and I love it that way.
