Okay, here is the information on the swap.

If you are interested in participating in this swap please post to this thread between now and 6:00 PM Thursday, October 30th.

If you haven't participate before, make sure you email me as soon as possible with your full name and address. And if anyone has moved recently please make sure I have your current address.

This is a "secret partner" Swap. You won't know who your partner is until your swap box arrives.

Theme: Three item/three category swap.

Category 1 - Pottery/glass

Category 2 - paper/textiles

Category 3 - One item Your Choice

The rules are the same as the previous swaps.

1.

New members are welcome to join in the fun as long as they have been active on the forum for at least three months AND have posted a minimum of 20 times since July 23rd, 2008. Most members prefer to send and receive from people that they have come to know. If you don't qualify for this swap, please continue to post so that you can play in the next Swap.

You must commit to spending a minimum of $30.00 on your swap box. This is the minimum. There is no maximum. The cost of Shipping is EXTRA.

Mail your gift box on or before the "Mailing Date" of Friday , November 21st, 2008.

Once the packages have started to arrive please try and participate on some of the follow-up threads.

Hi Everyone, Sorry I didn't make it to the swap today.With everything that's been happening and going on with the weather,I totally forgot today is the day.I really was looking forward to seeing you all.We're really trying to clean up everythng and waiting for help getting things back on the house.We have lots of missing shingles to get back on and the back down spout is laying in the back yard still yet,Not to mention pieces of siding blown off are in the far back yard.And of course a very large tree limb thats too heavy for either of us to move plus all the broken tree limbs and trash that comes along with the ride.But we'll get it done.We were without electric and water from Sunday to Wed.I'm very thankful it wasn't any longer then that and no one was hurt.I'm sorry to hear some of you are still in the dark,But know it won't be long now.I'm very grateful to all the workers who gave up time being with their families and loved ones to bring our power back on. I had so many plants to bring today,But like I said"Totally slipped my mind". I guess I will save them for the Spring Swap.I hope to see you all then.I will miss you all so very much!!Hope you had a good one!! I know you did!! Ooh, Mariann, I couldn't imagine even running a comb through my hair with that dent in there much less all they put your head through at the salon. Just thinking of them combing out sections before they snip with the scissors is making me shudder. When I worked in a retail store years ago I had to sort some things in our stock room. The ceiling was very low, only 5ft high (I'm 5'10") and had pipes running all over it. I was always so cautious when working in there but one day I stood up in the wrong spot and hit my head on a brace holding the pipes and went out like a light. I had a dent in my head for quite some time. That was back when I used hot rollers every day to get myself ready for my day. Ouch, the memories! Your mold problems are much worse than mine. The black mold can be especially dangerous. I just found some on one of the kids volleyballs that was left out under some bushes. I need to wash that with some bleach to remove it before they start playing with it again. I'm glad you wear a mask when it is bad. That stuff just isn't good for you.

Sharon, thanks for asking for clarification.

Its one item for each category. The only way to send more than one item per category is to send a set of something that comes naturally or is bought as a set.

Examples would be: Salt and Pepper grinders, matching table cloth and napkins,, salad bowl set, a set of wine glasses, cocktail plates, etc.

Putting together three or four or more items bought individually and calling it a set doesn't not qualify.

Jo, no worry. With a secret swap it doesn't matter how many participate. I don't need an even number of participants.

Darn! I had so much fun last time. I will have to sit (or lie down) for this one. I am in bed with pneumonia, had it in June also, so it has really knocked me out. I will look forward to the next one.

Add me in for this one. I haven't figured out the paper thing yet (although I have a lot of experience with textiles), but I'll do that when I find out who my partner is.

Barb, I hope you recover from your pneumonia - that's much worse than what I went through today. Pneumonia can be very dangerous. Are they able to give you anything for it?

Thanks Lars and Terri for well wishes.
I have been on antibiotics. I am on prednisone, inhalor, codeine, a flutter thing that I need to blow on, and bed rest. I feel better today, than I did yesterday. And to think..it's not even flu season. I will look forward to hearing about your swap.

Barb, I'm sorry you have been so sick lately. I sure hope you feel better soon.

Remember it is one item per category. Not one each of Paper and textiles. Lars, Cook books come to mind when I think of Paper.

Barb, I sure hope you're better soon, I know three people who have pneumonia already this year and it's only October.

I'm going to have to sit this one out too, all my extra time is spent dealing with family issues at this point.

I'll watch from the sidelines again, maybe my life will be boring by the time the next one comes around.

Ann, I'm sad to report that as much as I'd like to be a player, I just can't swing all of my responsibilities and a swap partner too! I've been thinking about it all day, and I don't know when I'd fit it all in. 3 aging parents is doing me in!
So I'll be watching from the sidelines and happy to gather info for those who need it!

Ohgood, I was afraid I was too late. I almost decided against it, but I think I can manage a three week deadline. DH broke his leg and we're still waiting for surgery. I would think after his leg is all plated and screwed back together he won't need constant care and I can get away to shop.

Oh, I know it's going to be a fun swap for everyone that participates, but like others have done, I've thought and thought about this one, and have come to the decision that I just can't swing it this time. Happy swapping everyone that's joining in, and I'll enjoy watching from the sidelines.
