I'm not convinced that human greenhouse gas production is going to damage the environment significantly, but I think it needs more study. ************ We are in complete agrement here. I do not believe that the CO2 from burning wood is going to destroy the planet. But many kooks do. And fireplace woodsmoke doesn't go that high into the atmosphere to cause damage. So we are on the exact same page. My point is that we are experiencing global warming, and we can do nothing about it as we now see on other planets. This lends a lot of credibility to the theory that the SUN is causing it. As it has many times before. Because we in Vermont and you in Connecticut at one time were under sheets of ice sometimes a mile thick. And I still ask: What caused the massive "global warming" that melted those glaciers 10,000 years ago? It wasn't my Ford Expedition or MSBROOKS fireplace.

When I started using Houzz I was amazed at how accurate the results of my searches were (in addition to the size of the photos database). It was a great resource. More recently when I've prepared to undertake projects, I've noticed that I just don't get the same, accurate results. My searches are riddled with results that just aren't pertinent. I think this is due to the incorporation of advertisers from my city and surrounding areas (contractors, builders, and others). There are enough ads (or results that are somehow influenced by someone who has something to sell) now to really hinder the flow of design ideas. I guess many internet sites end up using advertisers but it morphs the user experience. It's really made using Houzz less fruitful.

I'm sure she weighs significantly less than her 'ideal' wt on those ideal wt charts I am not even sure about that...I tend to be within my ideal weight range, but at the upper end of "healthy" and twice, when I veered toward the lower end of ideal, people asked me if I was having health problems, one time stress, the other time if I had cancer. On the other hand I was temporarily on a medication that made me gain weight and I was halfway between the lowest end of clinically overweight and the lowest end of obese. (this is a range of thirty lbs at my height. A number of women I work with told me I "was finally starting to look 'healthy' and 'a normal weight for my age'. " I think our perceptions are really somewhat skewed.

Just a couple points. Check your favorite cookie sheets to make sure they fit in the ovens, don't assume that just because capacity specs seem large that your things will fit (Bosh didn't fit my extra large cookie sheets that my former Thermador double oven always did). Sometimes rack rails get in the way with some ovens (new Thermador), and the Bosh oven rack has a bit of a lip on the back that kept my sheets from going all the way back. This may not be an issue based on the size of the baking sheets you use...but always do the test. Also, and this is most important, check -warranty differences between your options -make sure you have an authorized repair place available that services the brand you go with -call and see how quickly service can be at your house (took me 3 weeks for an LG refrigerator to get repaired ....and a TON$ to rebuild it after only 3 years owning it....never again will I try LG or Samsung or any other company that takes forever to get parts. Also, I was still in the "covered parts" of the warranty but it still cost me $800 in labor!! I knew when I bought it I would regret it one day but I was a sucker for capacity) -speak with an actual repair tech if either brand has any consistent issues with their ovens, cooktops, etc -ask about the amount of times both ovens are not working in a repair situation -ask the tech which one he would buy Finally, in the few times I had service on my Thermador double oven, it was never the "whole oven" being out of commission. It would be the door of one, or the temperature of the other, etc...never both. In the end, an outdated control panel is why I had to replace it, and in the end I was down to one oven working/hanging...I was never without both. That's not to say it can't happen, but I think that a good double oven is built to take this risk into account. I have a new double-oven being installed on Tuesday and am getting another double-oven, not two separate. Maybe I was lucky, but thought it was worth mentioning because I like my ovens having just one control panel at eye level.
