I had similar issues with FF updating automatically and then not working and causing problems. I went back to an older version per instructions I found here and it works great now. My observation these days, there are so many programs that have an automatic update (Windows, Adobe, FF, security software and so on) that they can cause frustrations too. Nothing worse than working on something and have the computer bogged down suddenly with checking for and or downloading updates automatically. This might not work for everyone but for me, I've found that using the option most programs have of "Notify me of updates but do not download" will give me the reminder I need and when I'm finished a particular task, let the download begin and go take a break.

I am strictly and IE gal so to speak. Have used it since I first got online with windows 98 and never a bit of trouble for me so I must be the odd man out. Currently running 2 computers with windows 7 and IE 11 and it works perfect. I can't stand firefox. For some strange reason it takes longer to open than IE and freezes and I have to wait to type the web address in to get where I am going. Never tried chrome and don't care to since IE gives me no trouble. I am sure someone could help me figure the firefox stuff out but I just don't care to bother since IE works perfect. Mary

I checked to see what add-ons I have.. I only have WOT, the dictionary, Java concole & Adblock plus. I disabled WOT & so far it seems to be running better. I would hate to be without WOT. I also went into AVG & unchecked "display notification window while E-mail is being scanned" also unchecked "display E-mail scanner related tray notifications" If these need to be checked I can always redo that. So far I have only had actual E-mail notifications. I will reinstall as a last resort.

Malwarebytes finished scanning and there were no infected files found.
