Computer questions.

Regarding the Processor.

Does a larger one quicken up your computer, if so are they expensive and easy to install.

I recently installed a new DVD burner and found the job dead easy.

I took a picture of the workings before hand so as to make sure everything was where it should be after I had completed the job....is the processor as easy to install.

Changing the processor isn't likely to give you much of a boost. Adding memory will usually be a better approach.

Hows about giving us some details on your computer ie what make/model, how much memory your currently have. What operating system, what size processor etc. It will make it alot easier to help you

A text file is a text file (letters and numbers). A jpg is a type of image file and it can't be converted to a text file without being processed by some kind of character recognition software. Some types of"text" files, like MS Word and equivalents, allow you to imbed an image in the middle of text but it remains an image. Like a photo or drawing. If your niece sent you scans or photos of text on a page, you need to read by using a photo or other image viewing software. Good luck.

You have to have a picture of the book jacket on your computer first. You can do that by actually taking a picture of it (assuming you have the book) and putting it on your computer the way you would any other picture or by saving an image of it that you find on Amazon or Goodreads etc to your computer. From there, when you are on the club website and click to upload a picture, go to wherever you have stored the image.

Just for the record! And to extrapolate on what Maifleur has contributed. When you "save as" a photo or any piece that you find on the internet that you want to use for your own or post to a thread...please...change the name or number of the photo or piece to your own name [i.e. "winters woof"] or number [winter 123] when you "save as". Otherwise...you're stealing bandwidth and that is not only technically illegal...it's considered very bad manners by the internet community as a whole. Some copyrighted material is coded so it won't allow linking but not all. Some sites are careful with their material and they move it around from time-to-time. If you saved it and didn't "own it" by giving it a new name...wherever you used it...the vision will suddenly disappear from view. Read through the info linked below. The processor has to be compatable with the mother board.
DVD drives are a one size fits all kinda deal.
Processors are not. You need to know what mother board
you have in order to find out what processors it will accept.

I have a computer here I use as backup and a few other tasks.
It has a 600Mhz processor in it. I looked up the mother board
for it and found it could only be upgraded to a 850Mhz processor.
And to upgrade the motherboard and processor both
would have cost more than a new computer.

Thanks all for your advice and I should have given you more details.
My computer was made up for me. in 2006.
AMD Athlon 64 processor, I ordered larger capacity but this is what I got.
2.01 GHz.1.87GB of Ram
Physical Address Extention
M/S XP H/E Version 2002, s pac2
Mother Board, ASUS M2N-MX, X series.
