also- have forgotten how to use usb mouse...

Also- I tried to use my usb mouse- I never used it with this computer before because of the touchpad. I put the usb into the port and it said it was 'complete'. Then I turned the mouse on- new batteries (little light flashing underside of mouse)., but when I try to move the mouse nothing happens- sorry, but I have forgotten what to do. TX

Reboot the computer see what happens..

you likely have to match your mouse and the usb dongle there is usually a small button on the bottom of the mouse to press to make them talk to each other.

1. Could you have accidently used the QUICK dough cycle instead of the regular dough cycle? If so, there wasn't sufficient proofing time. 2. Dough rises according to the temperature, moisture, and the strength of the yeast - not a clock. It takes longer the colder the ambient temperature. After the 1-hr. rise was it double in bulk? 3. You may have had too much dough for the pan size. Did you weigh the dough before choosing the pan size? Jumbo - 10x4-1/2" - 4-5 c. of flour - 2+ pounds of dough Quick Bread Pan - 9x5 - 4 c. of flour - 2-pounds Standard - 8-1/2x4-1/2 - 3 c. of flour - 1-1/2-pounds Medium - 7-1/2x3-1/2 - 2-1/2 c. of flour - 1-pound Small - 5-3/4x3-3/4 - 1-1/2 c. of flour - 8-oz. 4. After you removed the dough from the bread machine and deflated it did you round the dough and allow it to rest (covered) for 10-minutes before forming it? 5. Is it possible you used the wrong measuring spoon for measuring the yeast? I have a 1/2 T. measuring spoon that can accidently get pulled when I needed 1 teaspoon. 6. Cracks and shredding on the side of the loaf are often caused by too much flour OR old flour. When I replaced my mouse a couple of years ago, I kept it simple and went with a MicroSoft optical mouse, full size, with tail (cord) - no batteries, no fuss. it has a scroll Wheel and one side button. I use the scroll wheel a lot; don't use the side button. I did not install the driver tht came with it, but used the generic driver that was already in Windows. that way, the side button does not work and I don't get bothered with accidentals clicks on it. Anytime I want to activate it, I'll install the driver. It has served me well. I've clicked the left button so often that the finish on the plastic has worn off. The optical sensor has no moving parts and rarely wears out. The wear out items are the button switches. The sensor on this mouse will work on my pant leg and many other surfaces. Optical mice works best on surfaces that have an even, finely spaced pattern. I am finding that the regular mouse pad made by Allsop works well. In the bag with my laptop, I have a minature version of an optical mouse. It works, but after many years using a full size mouse, I find it ackward and revert to the standard mouse (also stored in the bag).

I'd say pretty much anywhere you'd use plain water for some extra flavor. I'm usually only cooking for myself, but just CANNOT bring myself to toss chicken bones/carcasses without making some stock. Easy to do and pretty much "free" from what you'd just be throwing away anyway. If bones from a few chicken breasts yields a few cups of broth/stock... perfect for making rice.

Does your touchpad have an on/off switch? If so, be sure it is in the off position.

Windows should notify you that it has "found new hardware". Right click in the task bar to open Task Manager and see if your mouse is listed among the hardware.

The mouse is a Targus. It is a couple years old. S/N 2000538. Even though it says it is 'found', when I open control panel/device manager, it is not there. I think it needs to work off of a Pentium, and I have a HP Mini, which has an Atom. Is this why I am having problems?

I doubt that the problem has anything to do with Pentium vs. Atom. Are you sure it's not there and just listed generically in your Control Panel? Also, have you opened Control Panel / Mouse to check out all of the various settings and options? Sometimes you have to disable the mousepad in order for an external mouse to have precedence, or you have to enable an option for both to work at the same time.

did you do the match up like I suggested? If not it will never see it. Push the button on the bottom of the mouse. Also you could try a different usb port just in case.

Is it possible that the mouse needs a driver installed to be recognized?

I did try what you have all suggested- I did push the bottom button on the mouse- there was a 'notice' that said 'identifying new xxx (forgot word and then says 'found new hardware', and there is the icon on the tray while the usb is plugged in- nothing when the usb is not plugged. I also unchecked the 'tap to click' on the Synapsis Pointer, but neither worked. Any other ideas?
