Windows 7 is quite good at fixing itself so let's start there and have you report back what happens. click Start click Control panel You should see a heading 'System and Security', click the bottom link to 'Find and fix a problem. At the bottom of the next page is the option to 'Fix problems with Windows updates, click that. The next window says 'Next' so foloow along to have the test completed. What program/s are you using for anti virus and anti malware?

Got it corrected. I had to delete the cashe on explorer/tools. I had already done that before but i had to be careful to then ask for one download and then immediately select use own browser. After that i could download one driver at a time.

The way that I finally got those particular security updates (KB2656353 and KB2656370) to install was that I went into my Programs (in Control Panel) and uninstalled the .NET Framework programs. Then I went back to Windows Updates and re-installed the .NET Framework programs and their associated security updates. Everything installed without a problem. Apparently there was some issue with Windows Defender related to these particular updates. The clients anti-virus was not up-to-date and after getting MSE installed and updated, I performed the above-mentioned process. I did this for a client who was using the Windows Vista OS.

Recently I had failed updates also. My solution was to write down the K number assigned to each update and searched for it at the Microsoft Updates website. As I found each individual update I downloaded and installed manually. I had to do that for each update. Try doing it like that and you might eventually get them installed. A good program to have would be Belarc that can tell you exactly what update you are missing. Here is a link that might be useful: Belarc website
