I feel different  but then I donÂt have one yet. :-) I plan on getting an OTR MW/Convection so that oven will be my third oven and/or warming drawer. I think if I need a third oven and/or warming drawer, I will not mind the location  IÂll just be happy I have it. :-)

There are other dual ovens with the small oven on top and I do like that layout better  I think I would use the small oven more often  more like a toaster oven. However, on all the models that have this configuration, the knobs for the burners are all on top  pushing the burners over and minimizing this valuable space. Neither is perfect, but IÂm not sure there can be such a thing as a perfect, 30" double oven with a 5 burner range. IIMO, the Café comes closestÂ

Hi, I have ordered my AG cafe just last week. I am also excited to have a second oven and will probably use it frequently. It is low to the floor, but really how long does it take to peek at what is cooking and then add or remove it? I am on the shorter side and think some double ovens have the top oven too high for me to reach up and pull out something hot near my face. This range seems the best compromise for our family.

I will report back when it is finally installed and used!

Not inconvenient at all. Perfect for using as a warming drawer. And a casserole will actually fit into it while the larger meal goes into the bigger oven on a different temperature. And, it's really really pretty! ;~) Love that all stainless "pro" look in a slide in and LOVE the 18K burner!

I have just bought a GE profile with a double oven. The 2nd oven is close to the floor. It is quite low, but no lower than a warming drawer. I read somewhere that ranges with the 2nd oven on top put the main oven very close to the floor. I think this would be far more of a pain. They say the large oven door opens almost touching the floor. Can you imagine lifting a turkey out of that?
The GE 2nd oven is abit shallow. But I am using it like a toaster oven. The only thing I don't like is the time it takes to heat up. My regular toaster oven seems to be much quicker. When I am able I will time it to get to 350 degrees.

I was hoping to use the small oven for most of my baking, because I usually just bake small things. But it's too low for frequent use. (I'm used to a wall oven.) However, I do like the configuration of burners and every other feature it has. I'm glad the rest of you like it, because it's otherwise a good product.

Eggandart49 Â Have you seen the Ge Profile Electric Range? This has the smaller oven on top and has a wonderful layout for the top (i.e. tri-ring burner and bridge element) I *really* wanted to like this oven but IÂve just read such bad reviews about electric cook-tops. However, you may feel different! :-)

exc. for the jennair/maytag that has small oven on top, every two oven range i have seen has the small oven on the bottom. that also allows the large oven to be "normal" size, while the jennair/maytag has a smaller large oven (if that makes sense!) also has the burners "pushed over" to fit controls in top, as has already been mentioned.

It's just tough to fit two ovens in the space of a single oven range.

Small on top makes more sense if you are going to use it a lot, especially if you use it instead of the big oven when possible; small on bottom if its more for emergency use when the main oven is full.

2 weeks ago with the price matching and buying 3 appliances from sears and getting 20% off on all the appliances i got the ge cafe for $1600 which is a steal of all steals. best buy the list is $2400. but brandmsart would sell for $2030 and thats what sears matched plus the 20% off. bargain and negotiate hard as there's huge deals out there if you're aggresive and have the time. i saved 6k on all my aplliances at sears over buying at best buy

I just installed an AG GE cafe this week. Love the look. Love it. The second oven was not important to me. I really wanted a slide in or the look of it. I have a convection OTR MW which I think functions fairly well as a second oven so to me this is just another benefit. I think I will use it most as a warming drawer. Love the look. I hope it will work well. Form and substance-what a treat!

I think its just a matter of personal preference. I had the Maytag gemeni for six years...the one with the small oven on top. We mostly only bake small amounts at a time so it was perfect having the smaller oven on top. I used the larger lower oven, which is basically on the gorund, at holiday ocaasions. Lifting a 20 pound turkey is completely doable...never once did I need to sit on the floor. I suppose if you had a bad back it would not be ideal though. The oven came with glide out racks so I did not find it to be an issue...maybe if I used the lower oven daily it would have been.

Yea  I do wish the second oven on the Café was on top  it just seems like it would be used so much more if it were. Still  it has everything else I want :-)

I bought 4 new GE Cafe appliances for my new kitchen a few months ago and I had the repair guy out the next week to work on my electric range because the lower oven was not cooking like the bigger oven like I was told it would. I have had it looked at 5 times and now the appliance place is saying they will just replace it with the GE Profile well thats great but now all of my handles will not match and the Profile is a cheaper range. Is anyone else having this problem with the electric Range.? The appliance place will not switch out all my appliance to profile because I have had them for 6months even though we have been dealing with this issue for 6 months.
