GE Cafe dual fuel double oven range
Comments (0)Dones anyone have the GE dual fuel model C25985SETSS range? I am looking at this and am concerned about the stainless stove top? Anyone have experience with this? I love that it is free standing but yet looks like a slide in. I like that the large oven is on top and the smaller one on the bottom because I don't think I could lift the turkey from the bottom!!! All the reviews seem to be good with the exception of the stainless top is easy to scratch. Can anyone advise me on this? Thanks so much for taking the time to help!...See MorePlease show me your GE Profile OR Cafe 30" double oven gas range
Comments (22)Here is the explanation I found on the GE website (the link to this is below so you can see the video). Also I looked through a couple of GE Café range manuals where they discussed the Control Lockout on 'some models,' but I suppose those manuals were written pre Summer 2013 because they showed it locking out burners as well. You may have to verify with GE Support about the specific model you are looking at. "Range - Explanation of the Lockout Feature The range Lockout feature allows the user to lock out all oven and surface burner operation. When locked, there can be no unintended oven or surface burner activation. Note: As of summer 2013, the control lockout button locks out the oven controls only, not the gas burners. To activate: 1.press Range Lockout pad 2.press Start To deactivate feature: repeat the steps listed above. If the power fails to the home while the range lockout feature is activated, the range lockout feature will remain activated once the power has been restored. The range lockout feature can also be activated while the surface burners are in use. Once range lockout has been activated the gas will stop flowing to the surface burners. The control panel will flash to remind you to turn the surface burner off. Caution: If the surface burner is left in the on position gas will flow once the range lockout feature has been deactivated. Note: Cooktops with control lock feature, when the lock is engaged and a burner is turned on, the cooktop will buzz and no gas will come out. View a short video about about the lockout feature."" Comments (10)We remodeled our kitchen in 2009 and went with all GE cafe products. We regret it everyday and have separate issues with each of the products. - The GE cafe 30" stand alone oven with warming drawer - while one of the burners is super powerful, the smallest burner is useless. And every time we use the warming drawer we blow a circuit (not the oven's fault but worth mentioning). - The over-the-hood microwave....we have replaced it x2. Each time the touch screen panel has gone out because it cannot take the heat from the range. - The fridge continues to make ice even when the ice maker is full and something inside the fridge makes a loud clicking/banging sound (just one bang) several times throughout the day. It is so loud that it makes us JUMP. - The dishwasher spills water on to the floor but the seal is good. Frustrating. We have had GE repairmen out several times and they each have stated that they have never done as many repairs as they have done for the Cafe series. They are beautiful but I swear I will never purchase appliances from GE again....See MoreSlide in double oven gas range - GE Cafe or New Kitchenaid?
Comments (7)We've had it for a few months and we haven't used all the features but for what we have used it for - it's been great. It looks great, the interior is huge, and we haven't had any issues cooking/baking with it. A few notes though - when baking, the knobs get very hot (because of their placement up front...might be an issue with kids around) and preheating seems to take a bit longer than my previous range but nothing intolerable. I've used the griddle once to make pancakes and because the burner is in the middle, the center ones cooked fine but the outer ones did not cook as well. I ended up just making the rest of the batch in a separate griddle pan and not sure if I'd really use it again. All I can think of at the moment - let me know if you have other specific questions and I can try to help....See Morebbstx
