After living with a terribly old and ugly bathroom with water damaged walls for many years, it was really nice to finally finish this room (although we still need to trim around the window and door). Everyone on this board was really helpful when I was planning the remodel. The granite is white river, sinks are Kohler Archer, cabinet hardware and toilet roll holder are RH Chatham, hooks and train rack are RH Vintage, arched hand towel bars are Ginger, lights and mirrors are PB, floors are filled and polished travertine, and the glass/travertine detail tiles in the shower are from Home Depot. I think the sink and shower fixtures are Moen. One thing I really love is the hidden medicine cabinet that looks like a framed picture. I'm not sure which Kohler faucet this is. DH saved the installation instructions, but didn't write the model number on the appropriate line*. It came from either HD or Lowe's (we shopped at both) and it has a a bit of a trough on the top of the handle. I do like the high arc and the reach is perfect. I also like that there is enough space between the handle and the spout to turn it on with your wrist if you hands are too grubby for using your fingers. This faucet was his choice. I was set on having a sensor faucet for the hall bath, he thought it was a bad idea, I finally drew a line in the sand and said I was going to choose the hall bath faucet and he could choose the MB faucet. Turns out he isn't totally into choosing faucets :), although he worked up to really wanting brushed nickel for the metals in this bathroom. I'm OK with brushed nickle.

Your bathroom is wonderful, newhomebuilder! I love the wall color. msrose, I have looked at Twilight Gold (only on the strip), and I think it's a little too taupe. But I may get a sample so that I can see it in the room. I have a little more time now - the contractor had to order the wood he needs for the baseboard and molding, so that and the installation of the toilet and sink are now put off for at least a week. So I will continue thinking and perhaps get a new sample or two. It also occurred to me that I might mix the Acorn Yellow (darkest board) with the Yellow Squash (peachier shade) - they are next to one another on the color strip. I'm worried that the Acorn Yellow is too pumpkin-y.

I wish I could build a small space in the exterior wall inset into the backsplash like a medicine cabinet size. I could have a piece of marble or granite depending on my backsplash cut down to tile width and make sliding door that covers the spices so they blend when not cooking. But I moved my cooking work station to the island so I face my friends as opposed to being in Siberia for the next 20 years again lol... If I did have the cooktop over on that wall, then a two pane little glass door that slides left and right the way old apartment medicine cabinets did long ago when I lived in an apartment in DC would be very sleek. The inside of the cabinet would be lovely, and there would be a small rope of LED giving the box a little glow when I needed to see inside to read the labels. OR how about a flip down spice rack from under the cabinet like a television set that can be tilted toward you. You could have two, I would have all my Italian and American type spices to the left of the cooktop, and all the Morrocan, Northern Africa and Indian spices in another flip down spice rack on the right. But I have located my cooktop on a peninsula for the social aspect of cooking for others and... In our new kitchen I have an induction stove and an eat on- counter about 5 inches above the granite which makes a space for spices. The granite people are making me some 18 inch tiles from the granite backsplash so I can consider trying a sliding door for that are made out of the backsplash. They love the idea. Granite is awesome to clean - very easy - and blends well with the countertop and set backsplash which is lovely - and the stone is cool because its stone and induction puts out no heat. On the other hand its heavy and may not slide very well...so I may go with a gorgeous cherry wood long low door that slides back to reveal the spices. I really want them on the counter where I cook.
