Well - I restarted the computer - which enabled me to move the cursor over the task bar until I got a double arrow - then drag it down - and eliminate the second, lower task bar. Now I have a single task bar again - but most of my quick launch items are not there. The start menu and open windows are on the left. Time, print icon, volume icon, secunia icon (which now won't work for me - interminably keeps trying to load) and windows update icon are there. There is no left arrow As for fonts, I can't get them restored in my inbox. I tried changing the font style in firefox options - but nothing changed. Except now - just today - all the computer forum is in a new font and is bold (way too large and bold) - all other web pages are unchanged. Is that just a coincidence that the colors and fonts and boldness here have changed? I will try a system restore later - since several things seem out of whack. I did search the firefox forums - and many people reported this inbox font change since March. No real fixes - a few complicated sounding work-arounds. Doesn't sound like anyone there was happy with the suggested workarounds. Thanks. Lynn.

Just another comment on computer use and glasses. If you wear bifocals or progressives, it's important to buy computer glasses. If you don't, and use your regular progressives to work at the computer, you will be holding your neck at an unnatural angle, and there is research that shows that can cause permanent damage to the neck over time. For the progressive wearer, computer glasses would be designed so that the bottom of the glasses are for close work, and the upper part is formulated for computer screen distance. The brand Compuvue makes lenses that are just amazing--NO side distortion (like you get with regular progressives). Luckily, my dd is an optician and keeps me both informed and supplied with the best eyecare solutions. It's really important, though, that if you do a lot of computer work, that you discuss your corrections with your opthalmologist or qualified optician (not all opticians are licensed, in all states) and get the proper correction for your needs. One pair of glasses may not be enough to handle all your activities properly. And considering the cost of medical treatment, to me it IS a money-saving tip to have the best eye correction possible.

I am with Scott and Flgargoyle, a huge number of my fellow Americans are not able to use reason. They react with the crowd without understanding the reasons behind their choices. Sheeple, my co-worker calls them. All that counts is what is covered by the media, and the bully/loudest/most indignant and LEAST INTELLECTUAL (the most important factor) person is the one they are going to follow. I was truly amazed at the number of cars that suddenly appeared on our streets in the summer of 2008. I drive a PT Cruiser (the largest car I have ever owned) and I have never been able to see around all the SUVs on the road. Once the gas prices hit $4, though, cars must have been shipped in from all over, because all of a sudden, I could see all around me in traffic. Now, two years later, SUVs, vans, and trucks are blocking my view again. Hummm, two years. Maybe all those leases expired. Since gas prices were lower at $2.50, the big vehicles are back. Funny how the price of gas is inching higher and hit $3 again. It didn't happen until the fall, two years and a couple of months after everyone changed to cars. Coincidence? I see all the empty houses, hear about our Michigan unemployment/underemployment/gave up looking rate of 21% and wonder if we will ever recover economically. I have read that there is a commercial property mortgage crisis yet to come. Businesses have no qualms about walking away from a mortgage if they can get a cheaper property or if business is so slow they cannot pay the bills. I keep waiting for the bigger crash. I don't think we are done with it yet. I was reading that the Bank of America is in trouble.... Chris, thanks for buying American. As a Detroit native, I appreciate your confidence. My last car was a cute little Ford Contour, I loved it.

Couple of Questions: What is the Operating System on the computer she's using? Is this an Online Game? What game is it that she's playing? Possible Solutions: I would Try having her Shut down her Screen Saver while she plays to see if that works. That would be one of the easier things to do! If it doesn't work, she can always turn it back on! Another easy thing to try would be to have her turn down to Video Settings to see if that corrects the problem. For instance, mine is set to 1920 x 1080, I might try setting it to 1280 x 1024 to see shat happens. Some games prefer to play at a lower Resolution. I've also seen Anti-Virus Programs cause things like this to happen. Have her Disable her Anti-Virus Program while she's playing. If it's scanning while she's playing it could very well cause something like this.
