Keep your fingers crossed.... ( long )

After spending a few hours researching my Swap Partner I had my mind set on what to get... I spent a couple more hours looking for a store in my area for the right items, I want to see what I'm buying... Success... I found just what I was looking for and a little something for me, at a store that was close enough that I wouldn't have to spend more for the gas than I would for the items... lol

So, this morning I got a sitter for hubby and armed with enough cash to buy out half the store ( lol ) I began my quest... Luckily, a few minutes after entering the store, I happened upon a very nice sales person who said she'd be more than happy to help me find all the items on my list... Since we were close to it she chose the last item on my list first, the one for me... Something I've wanted since I first time I saw it, Easy Feet, the thingy you use in the shower to scrub your feet, no hands, no bending, just slip your foot in and move it back and forth... Oh my, none on the shelf.

We went over to the computer so she could check the stock room for one... Nope... All out but they had 300 on order... They could send me one when they came in... I asked how much for shipping... She said another $5... I said that's ok, I could live without it for a while longer and it wouldn't cost that much for gas to come back... Oh well.

While we were at the computer she said she would check on my other items... The first item came up as only being sold online... Sigh... She said she could order it for me and have it shipped... I said no because I saw one at another local store, it wasn't quite as nice but... Sigh.

The final blow... The other item I wanted for my Swap Partner... Well they normally don't stock it but another one of their stores does carry it and they do have it in stock... But.... The store is another 20 miles away... I couldn't make it to another store, I only had hubby's sitter for two hours... SIGH!

The sweet young sales lady saw how disappointed I was and offered to order everything I wanted, have it shipped to my door and wave all the shipping charges... She said I should have everything in a few days... Now how could I say no to that?

Well, after I got home I started to think of lots of reasons why I should have said no... What if they don't look as good as they did online, what if they only send part of my order, what if they're damaged in shipping, what if it takes a lot longer to get here...

Please keep your fingers crossed that I don't have to go to plan B because I don't have a plan B yet...

Fingers crossed. Relax -- this is supposed to be fun. If you don't think the items are up to snuff, save them for stocking stuffers.

OMG Sandy, Just read this post and you talked about thrush. That is a nasty, nasty word in my book. I supposedly have asthma and am on the inhaler Advair. After too many, too many bouts with thrush I went cold turkey off of Advair. I got thrush back in February. It got so bad it went to my throat and tonsils. Even my gums were bleeding. I couldn't even drink tea I was in so much agony. I lost 5# because I couldn't eat. I still had thrush in May after a month of being on Diflucam to take it away. I could eat but it still hurt, and forget about taste. I lived on applesauce, jello and pudding. On Father's Day this year I thought I had a small stoke. It felt like someone had stabbed me in the left side of my head with a sharp pencil, then my whole left side went numb, even my tongue. The MRI showed I had a slight brain aneurysm that had healed itself. That was it. I decided the Lord gave me a second chance at life and I wasn't going to abuse it. I am now on a strict low-sodium diet. I have lost 30#. It seems like the pounds are just melting away. If it ain't natural it ain't going in my body. I gave up diet pop, and anything with splenda, neutrasweet or aspartame in it. I have been told I have had asthma and allergies my whole life, and I can't believe the difference. I haven't used an inhaler since February and don't have a problem breathing. I haven't had an asthma attack (thank God) and this is the first year I haven't sneezed my head off during allergy season. I am up to 1.60 miles on the manual treadmill and can bench press 50# on the Bowflex. I don't care what my allergist tells me, I refuse to put anymore steroids into my body. That's what caused the thrush in my mouth and throat, steroids in the Advair inhaler. I feel like I have been reborn. Jenny

Thanks for answering Dan. Yeah I kind of know what they mean calling them weeds lol. I have ONE amaryllis that looks good when not in bloom - Papillio. It has a lot of nice strong green leaves year round. Being in the North, I have to bring my pots in and on the sill in the winter so I'm guessing the low light is what causes the other leaves to not look their best. I'm also trying to figure out if using a different fertilizer (I just use Schultz houseplant fertilizer in the winter and Miracle Gro in the summer) will help get healthier and more abundant leaves. I have a friend in Louisiana who has a wonderful collection of gingers. I agree that they're beautiful and I'd love to smell their fragrance too. I've only got so much room to zone push though! Good luck with your seeds.

Thanks for all of the good wishes!!! Posted an update on another thread. And MARION! I've been playing ostrich, as usual lol, and sticking my head in the sand :-P . So my Wolf has avoided the dreaded porcelain chipping but has a DCL circuit error again. It was fixed in December and just popped again. Even though only partially in warranty, Wolf has agreed to pay for the total repair. The December repair is only good for 1 month but Wolf didn't even blink to cover it again. They said it was unusual to re-occur as they know the problem and solution. Stay tuned! Thanks for your support! A2gemini

Things are looking up... I received an e-mail saying my items had been shipped and I should get them today!

My items were delivered on Wednesday, as promised... The poor UPS guy looked as if he were melting, it was 97 that day...

I may go back to the store and buy one of the items for myself ( lol )... The color on the web site isn't an exact match, to what I received, but I like it even better... Only problem is that it doesn't go with anything I already have so I'd have to redo that area... lol
