Need help posting pictures to forums

I cannot figure out how to post pictures on the forums. My pictures are on disk. I opened an account at photobucket, but how do you get it to the message area? I don't have a clue when it comes to computers. If you could help me through it, with baby steps. I would appreciate it so much!

Under your picture on photobucket you will see lines of code. Click on the one labeled 'HTML code'. You will see a brief pop up saying 'copied'. Go to your message on gardenweb and right click on where you want the picture to appear and select 'Paste' from the drop down menu. You can paste more than one picture if you want. When you preview your message the pictures will show up.

fruitnut, I did send him a link to this thread so he could see the sad state of the tree. I also told him I wasn't mad, just sad, and that he shouldn't bare root anything with leaves. Dormant is a different story. I don't know if he sells on Ebay, but I found him on another forum. Not garden web. My first gut was to prune the tree as you suggest, thinking I might be able to get some cuttings to root also. I know when trying to root green cuttings of olives (you remove all leaves, and cut the top in half, but this one is rooted, so maybe I'll prune it 80%. When we transplanted 2 olives grown over 6' as explained above, we had to root prune, so we top pruned as well for the move. They had roots, but we did cut the tops to relieve the stress. One year later they both live, but have not grown at all. I'm leaning towards pruning. Thank you! Suzi

Go to the front page of any of the forums and scroll down to the very bottom. There, you will see three clickable sites: technical problems, letters and comments, and mailing list. Click on technical problems, then select your category. State your problems and send it in.

The board itself doesn't accept uploads (other than the text of a post), so pictures must be uploaded separately to a 3rd-party web host somewhere, and linked using HTML code. Get yourself an account at a free picture hosting service, or use the web space provided by your ISP (assuming they offer it), upload your pics there, make note of the URL(s) to view them individually. Include the URL(s) within "image" tags in your post as appropriate. If you don't know how to use HTML code tags, do a search for it Voila!

If you could help me through it, with baby steps.

I am going to assume you are comfortable with opening and having more than one tab open. If you are not, just say so. I discovered a member at the Test Forum was having one heck of a time with the instructions, because she had never had more than one tab (or window) open at a time. Once she master tabs she was soon posting pics.

1...just type your message,...or in this case a reply to this post, changing the Subject of Posting line by one character.
2...open Photobucket in another tab
3...find the pic you want to post in the message,
4...click on HTML code found in the third box below the pic. It will say copied in yellow,
5...go back and paste the HTML in your message box,
6...hit preview,
You will then see your message, and the actual pic,
and
7... lastly hit submit.

Stop on by the Test Forum Gallery. There are 'regulars' there that will help until you get good at it.

In reading bunny6's message, I gather she has an account with Photobucket, but her pictures are on her disk and have not been uploaded to her account.

If she comes back here to look for replies, we can start there with telling her how to upload them.

Hi Sue! Thanks everyone for your help. I think part of my problem is that I have an old computer. My computer is so old that I have windows 95. I have had this computer forever it seems. It never breaks. I am going to try all of you guys suggestions. This can't be that hard as I am making it.

I found it hard to get them uploaded to P-bucket and then to post them for the first time. I can remember I felt empowered once I finally got one pic posted. If I can do it, anyone can do it, with enough instructions.
