Whar size marble tile is most practical on a shower floor?
Comments (8)I used 9"x18" calacatta on the bathroom floor and shower walls and 2"x2" mesh-backed on the floor. The 2" tiles (to me) provide plenty of traction. If I had time to wait on what I wanted, which were mini bricks, I would have used those for continuity in the pattern, but these were in stock and 30% less in price. A lot of people use 1"x1", which would be fine, too, or 5/8"x5/8", which I think is too much grout for the floor, but that's just my opinion....See MoreTile Size - 12x12's on floor - what do we choose for the shower?
Comments (1)I have 13x13 tiles on my floor, and did rectangular tiles in the shower laid horizonally in a brick pattern. They look awesome and it works fine with the floor. However...my floor is laid straight, not diagonally, so that's something you should know. I really love my little rectangles, though. It may come down to personal taste, but I think a rectangular tile makes the space look bigger (it's the same dimensions as yours). In the end, you should probably look through pictures and see what you like, and what you don't. I'm not sure that there is a wrong choice here. :)...See MoreHELP Subway tile shower, marble hex floor but what for shower floor?
Comments (2)hello Jillianfl. Top photo is the one I used to remodle my last bathroom. I loved it and got lots of compliments on it. I'm now renovating a new home, and I have the same concerns about the shower flooring. Did you end up getting some advice? What did you end up going with? Thanks in advance!...See MoreSize of shower floor tile, and alternatives to mosaic/river rock?
Comments (2)Option to consider. I commonly fabricate tiles the same size as the drain grate for a clean finish. You can't get a better match than being cut from the same large format tile....See Morechristine40
